This is just a theory. I wonder if you can manipulate the timing for the bullet bill at the end of 8-2 so instead of waiting at the bottom stairs, the bullet bill is already storming towards the bottom of the flagpole. That way you can just jump up the stairs, land on the bullet bill on the correct pixel, and perform the glitch instead of waiting 2 - 3 seconds for the bill.
But the 1-2 pipe clip at the end in the TAS has only been performed by only 2 people in a run. AndrewG & StuckInAPlate. Maybe people are just a little too scared to go for it while running Any%. What was the 2nd video for anyway?
Some runners originally did -8.17 for the BBG timing you know.
Nevermind I figured it out. :)
I'm not so sure about that. I'll have to think about it.
Hi. I'm looking at speedrunning 70 Star nonstop, and I typed the Japanese gameshark codes (correctly) into my sm64 file on my gameshark. I typed both nonstop codes for the Japanese version & the intro skip Japanese codes, and the result? Nothing happened, I had clicked on "Played game with selected codes" and with all 3 codes on, nothing. Now I seek help to see what I'm doing wrong. Maybe it's because I play on a North American GameShark cartridge with a Japanese sm64 cart. I don't know.
I think I remember making the points faster a little while back, but now I just don't remember which button it was that helped.
It's true. I went from 24:51 - 23:27 in just a few tries. Ruling old WR by 41 seconds.
Skipping points screen? I don't get that. Core game?
If we DID use Speed 2, then one of the numbers on the top would say 2. My runs are played on EMU, the only buttons I use are Up Down Left & Right. NONE of those buttons changes the speed. Does it? No. Neither the other runs were found at different speeds, the videos were just found sped up. Those times were retimed to the speed Speed 1 is at. None of the runs on the leaderboard are any faster than Speed 1.
The "All Tiers" categories are the "Beat The Game" categories so to speak. The category "All Tiers (5) was the 100% category for the original game, and the "All Tiers (6)" category was the 100% category for Gold & Temsa edition. (Unless Gold & Temsa have different courses.) Therefore there is NO point in adding an All Tiers (5) category for Gold & Temsa edition.
Also @DdariQ Gold & Temsa are different than the original. Gold & Temsa have 6 Tiers, as the normal game has only 5 Tiers. Gold & Temsa MAY have different missions, but I don't know if they do or don't.
Sure! Here's a little story:
When the game was first approved, the game actually did have a theme, but was removed because I couldn't see the theme.
@EmeraldTheFurball & @j_hoodhere please make sure that if you plan to edit something about the game please discuss what you want to change w/ me. The only things that will NOT be changed are the categories & their rules. Whether if it is banning someone or making a CE game for Bus Driver, please just contact me about it. If I do not approve it then the change will not happen.
Please & thank you.
You said you ran on an Atari console, now you're admitting you played w/ a Sega controller?
I don't really know why. Your character seems a little bit slower than the emu.
Smart thinking, although the odds of being able to do such things to the game are very, very slim. Maybe we could use a TAS first to figure out the 1-2 & 4-2 tricks, since you can munipulate every frame of the game.
That's been a method for a couple of years now. I used to do that when I was new to speedrunning.
