Because I'm not doing this for myself.
You're right, I made an account on speedrun.com solely to post evidence I found of splicing in this thread. If I hadn't though, it would have been one less voice in this thread telling you there's something fishy with d4gr0n's run. I certainly wasn't going to join this site for the ¤wonderful¤ community. I speedrun to improve MY times, not rate myself against anyone else's.
OK, so why was the PC even a factor here?
Oooookay, from the Elgato help site https://help.elgato.com/customer/portal/articles/1020255-elgato-game-capture-hd-system-requirements
"Elgato Game Capture HD software will not run using any version of Windows XP or Windows Vista."
Also THIS is not Windows XP
Streaming for verification isn't about quality. I streamed at 320x180 on a 0.25kbps upload in 2011, using a $200 vista laptop. You already have a capture card capable of streaming and a computer capable of recording.

Yeah, YouTube doesn't resample a video's framerate, let alone get selective about what it changes and doesn't. Neither does an Elgato HD, Elgato Game Capture HD even when it reencodes from raw .ts to .mp4, or Movie Maker for that matter. That ghosting happens when framerate of a video in a project doesn't match the framerate on the rendered video.
