Here is a TAS I created to see how quickly Toy Story Racer can be completed in the shortest possible time. I made it just for fun and to see how long it takes to finish the game perfectly.
It's not a perfect run, far from it, but I'm proud of the two years it took to make. For those curious to see, here it is:
In theory, hitting the pixels on the frames perfectly and losing the least possible time in all the racing challenges, it is still impossible to finish in less than 3 hours, it would still be above that.
The first race track where I did this was with RC at the mall. The video was cut from an already existing one from 2022. It is below.
And of course, this shortcut seems to work on all tracks. I haven't tested it on all of them, but from the little I managed to do, I can say yes. Below are other examples in video.
The way to do it is almost the same, but it is quite a matter of luck. The most practical way to use it is to try in the first race of the first tower challenge. If it fails, just restart and try again until you succeed. If it works, finish the race normally.
It seems that if done well, all tracks it is possible to win the lap trial this way. The old way takes longer, making you waste more than 5 to 10 seconds walking on the wall.
So far I've only been able to do this on two tracks and both using RC.
As this is not allowed in individual races, in character towers this greatly reduces the time.
Since this is the second time I've achieved this, I can test ways to make this work consistently.
Hello Atillahan. Sorry for the delay in responding, I really didn't think anyone would comment here. I haven't been to the site in the last 2 months. But anyway, as for the version of the game I'm not 100% sure but I believe it's the NTSC version of the game because I always prioritize NTSC versions. But if necessary I do the tests in both versions and confirm with complete certainty.
That's it, I'll watch your race to see what new strategies were discovered post 2020 when I made the video. The lava jumping path is faster but much more difficult to execute.
Anything just talk.
Moving quickly to post an old video I had made in 2020 using some shortcuts and strategies. Nothing so optimized that it can't improve.
That's it. Maybe it's interesting.
