I cant see talking to the mod team being anything other than a negative experience so I will have to pass.
Wont ever happen, they said they were gonna make changes months ago and nothing happened. It's a waste of a good concept.
I think any% dupeless being on the category extensions is good, that’s what the category extensions are there for. The only issue is it’s sitting there next to hooker% and bad ending and all that stuff which makes it look like a joke, but that’s an issue for another day.
So it’s been a month since any on topic posts in here. Any update for us? Are you working on it?
I’ve been working the past few days on finding a way to consistently steal a cop/news helicopter during all Horseshoes. I have yet to find a method that is consistent. It is a place that you can easily save/lose time and everyone seems to do it a different way. I want to try some new things so if you have any ideas feel free to post, doesn’t matter if you have any experience with it I will try anything including using different buildings.
Whatever rules we do end up adopting I think we could add something along the lines of “don’t argue about or point out rule violating posts within the forum itself.” If you feel something needs to be looked and addressed don’t point it out and make a scene on the forums, it is better to handle that stuff on discord or in private. Even if your intent is to be helpful there is a right and a wrong way to handle rule violations.
Just gonna point out that I don't use XInput so what works for me is probably irrelevant. Also I don't use the same buttons as nati as he implied in his post. Just try different things I guess. Another thing you should look into is what buttons are assigned to what numbers in XInput itself make sure you set it up just like nati and then try.
Jizzy with the satchels is faster I guess. I think it helps more with p69 and om0 snail trail.
Not sure where to put this but since it mostly concerns SF I'll put it here. If your on foot secondary fire key is the same as action you can hold a call while aiming with a sniper or rocket launcher. You will shoot the entire time you aim though so you have to practice it a little.
I've never seen a need for moving the pause function to the controller, only time you ever pause is when pause buffering and when you are doing that you are almost always waiting on a call at a particular time so you can't really save or lose anytime
I still fail to see how any keyboard and mouse player is put at a disadvantage. Switching from a controller to a mouse on the fly is slower than continuing to use a mouse throughout, I can't think of a single circumstance where this is not true. The only time you are gaining by switching from a controller to a mouse on the fly is over someone who is having to stop and pause in order to switch, the timesave comes from not pausing not from the switch itself. The only people that are put at a disadvantage are people not using the mod and still using a controller, and that is me and I think only me.
And the second reason keyboard and mouse users are not at an unfair disadvantage is because you have access to GInput and can use it if you wish because it is an allowed mod (as of now). So if you want to setup a controller and have it there for 9s and AKs you can. It's not unfair it's completley fair cause everyone is allowed to use the same equipment.
So sorry keyboard and mouse people, you are playing on the fastest equipment regardless of switching unless you want to count fractions of a second on one single portion of a mission.
TLDR : there is no unfair timeloss for kb+m because there is no timeless and even if there was it would be fair.
Now if you want to ban it just cause it's a mod that changes the way the game works that's fine but be honest about it and be thoughtful.
Personally I am flattered that you care so much about the 2-4 seconds per run i might be losing. It has to be about the timesave cause you are replacing it with a mod.
So GInput is being replaced by another mod, so everyone that said, "its not about the time its about it being a mod" or anything along the lines of wanting a more vanilla game basically get nothing. GInput users would have to set up a harder to use mod that has been giving Illuminati and BackMadeJay problems. The only positive out of it is that it supposedly wont allow you to shift from using a controller to using a mouse without pausing, which is only an unfair advantage over people who use a controller but not GInput and has no timesave compared to using the mouse the whole time, and as far as i know that only benefits me. So there is no way to use an xbox control without modifying the game, contrary to what many people said in here.
Is this worth it? Why not outlaw all controller mods and mouse fixes as some have suggested? and mp3 randomizer while we are at it.
Also, if it is banned, how would you be able to tell if at no point in the run there is an obvious use of the mouse?
First question: do you use GInput or kb+m. Cause we haven't already explicitly shown that there is a third option...
Finally, some clarification. The only thing GInput allows you to do is change from using a mouse to using a joy stick without pausing to change the settings. The holding a call through a pause (which is a misleading comment) is possible without the mod. Not that this changes anything really but it should be pointed out as it was 1/2 of the problems listed with it.
I'd still like a clairification on the matter of holding a call through a pause
