id say either bank on iron in bastion or try to get iron while mining down for lava, then smelt it while building your portal, it's a good way to task overlap and might honestly be faster than double trading
@Pooply oh ok thanks for the response I had no idea
np, it just really sucks I can't figure out how to get it to work like everyone else's lol
it's specifically stated that optifine is allowed with verions 1.0 to 1.15, most of the top runs use it, I also specified I'm playing 1.14.4
My computer is not very good so I very much want to be able to use Optifine to run 1.14.4. The mod runs fine but even when keeping fog on in the settings, my nether and end visibility is way increased over vanilla. Obviously this is not allowed, so does anyone know how to get the fog to appear the way it does in normal Minecraft? I have Fog in video settings set to on and already tried turning fog start to 0.2 through 0.8 and with all of them I can see way farther in other dimensions than I'm supposed to.
@Pooply,
Overall the streaming does seem better than recording, especially using your recommended settings. I am still having an issue, though. The gameplay is very smooth for the most part, but every 10-20 seconds I get an insane lag spike where the game is practically unplayable that is way worse than anything I had while recording. Do you have any idea why these lag spikes might be happening so consistently, or any ideas on how to fix it?
Huh, I never new streaming was less stressful than recording, I always assumed the other way around. Thank you for the advice, I'll definitely try this out.
I'm pretty new to speed running and use a not too powerful gaming laptop. Most recording software causes me to lag beyond belief but the one I found that is relatively lag-free only records the game window, which does not include the timer. Do submissions have to have the timer in the video, or is it fine to just have the video of the actual game? I would assume it's fine to not have the timer because you can just manually time it to verify the time of the run, and the rules for submissions don't state this specifically, but I want to make sure.
