Hi, I've just added PSN as a possible platform for Ghoul Patrol. Happy running!
That one is frame-perfect. You need to time your rebound just as the mosquito collides with the round platform. So that Jerry bounces both from the mosquito and the platform at the same time, making him do a super jump. I'd suggest practicing the trick on an emulator with a savestate
There's... no secret to it. Just press Y or A at the appropriate rhythm.
Hi, thanks for this, yeah I remember Guhbadoo
I don't know, starting with the password wouldn't feel as legitimate. It would make the run much easier for world 1, but after getting the remote controlled bombs in 2-5, the run would be pretty much the same. If you feel that the category is worth it, feel free to propose a run!
Hi, sorry, here's the link. This discord server covers Soul Blazer, IoG and Terranigma.
It was known indeed, but there's no known manipulation. Seems complicated to find a way to always kill this enemy at the same frame :D But who knows, it might be possible.
Hi!
There is no individual level leaderboard for this game yet. As far as I know, you are the first person to be interested in single level runs. I don't know how that would work for this game specifically since you can't easily access any level you want from a menu or a password...
Hi,
Yes, emulator runs are usually accepted :)
Please don't use ZSNES though (it poorly emulates lag), and if you use SNES9x, please use a recent version (1.5x or higher). Other emulators like BizHawk, SNESGT, Higan, BSNES, Retroarch, Mesen etc. are perfectly fine.
I'm sure you can submit. Mods will just add the two seconds back :D
I don't have any setup either for this clip... You jump must last between 3 and 5 frames for it to work, but there's no cue for the horizontal positioning unfortunately.
Usual SNES rules apply I guess. You can use:
- Snes9x version 1.5 or higher
- SNESGT
- BizHawk, Higan, Bsnes
- RetroArch, Mesen. Avoid Zsnes because it poorly emulates lag.
It's clear to me that the versions should be split. And yeah, unfortunately I couldn't find a way to replicate the Genesis-only wall clips in the SNES TAS... I had no idea those tricks were humanly possible though. GL on running the Genesis version, I'm curious to see what time you can achieve :)
As with most 8-bit or 16-bit games, US or Japanese version. The EU version is slower because of its lower fps (50 instead of 60).
Since it seems to be the custom Nintendo emulator, I suppose it should be OK to use Canoe for speedrunning. Unfortunately I can't help you much with how to get it / set it up...
