tl;dr
"just because he submitted a segmented run is poor distribution of power"
it's speedrunning dude, chill lmao
Never assume segmented is allowed unless the category is for segmented runs. Most categories will use RTA or SDA timing that want the runner to be playing the game to completion from start to finish without saving and coming back to run it later.
FF9 having a segmented category doesn't mean it's okay to submit a segmented run to another game from that series when that game doesn't have that category.
Lastly, this is a question for that game(s) forums: https://www.speedrun.com/ff/forum
we copypasting our rules list on twitch, okay here I go
1.) Don't get banned
easy to follow

My complaints aside, this question belongs on that game's forum
I think people care too much about a virtual trophy than just speedrunning the game they like.
I just ignore it, and then I don't have to ban anyone. They get discouraged from doing it, and I don't have to drop everything to ban them.
ez
I have zero experience with it, not sure what it is. If it's a streaming software so long as you can capture windows it should be fine.
http://livesplit.github.io/ - LiveSplit seems to be the most popular timer https://obsproject.com/ - OBS is a great free option for streaming runs, which can cover video proof, and streaming is just fun in general http://www.speedrunslive.com/ - SRL is still the go-to place for races, has integration with LiveSplit I think. Great place for someone starting out
Depending on the games you intend to run, listed above could be all you need. For consoles you'll need hardware and the options are fairly vast.
1.) I hate this mentality that there absolutely has to be a leaderboard in order to speedrun something. Just fucking run it, otherwise you're doing it for the wrong reason. 2.) You know you that this belongs on that game's forum, not here. So take it up with the game's mod/runner
Can't control who joins. Speedrunning community, and no community for that matter, is immune to shitters. So if someone wanted to join and just troll a bunch of PB vids on the site, they could do so.
Replaying OoT almost got me there. Was like a freight train of emotion. Even if it was just nostalgia
getting old sucks
Haven't watched an AL vid in awhile but didn't he complain about ¤GDQ becoming too safe and all about money? So he makes a gofundme for his speed marathon to raise more money than necessary and claims to have only some of the most well-known runners on deck. Sounds like the fast track to become the very thing you set out to destroy.
old stuff like doom and quake
tl;dr use common sense and it will take you far.
going into someone's chat and immediately criticizing their gameplay, the look of the stream, etc. is a great way to get the streamer to hate you
nobody bought the r9 285?
I run an FX 8350 and a GTX960 and n64 emulations works on my machine :^)
¤shrug¤
how old is your PC?
The emulators you listed work fine to my knowledge < (doesn't play N64 emulated)
Describe "ran like garbage..." and bugs? such as?
Discord created for the Dark Alliance series as well as the Champions of Norrath series, since I imagine there's some overlap.
