Day 71: While theres no official leaderboard for it, dha holds the record for the most visits to one sr.c lb page, having visited the seterra lbs more than 50K times. To my knowledge this is the highest total. If you know someone else who has more let me know
I was checking out the game and I saw that the categories fit the first level but not the rest.
Each level has 10 challenges which usually follow a pattern.1-5 are highscore, 9 is all letters, 10 is secret and 6-8 are random stuff.
##The problem: The problem is that the highscore requirements arent always the same so in stage 1, goal 5 is 175 cars and in stage 3 its 300 cars, making the current highscore categories arbitrary for other levels. Also, since challenges 6-8 are random you cant force the same categories as, for example, level 3 doesnt have cones and in other levels challenge 6 might be 10 cones instead of 5.
#Solutions:
You can keep the stages and levels and use categories for each goal, naming them “Goal 1”, “Goal 2” etc so they are universal or even “Goal 1 (highscore)” “Goal 2 (Highscore)” “Goal 10 (secret)” adding something to give hints about the goals that have a pattern. If you wanted to go further (it would take long and idk if its possible but it would help a lot verifying) you could create a variable for each goal of each level with only 1 subcategory which had the requirement of the goal. For example: (In goal 1 level 1 youd name the only subcategory “25 cones”, then in goal 5 level 3 it would be “300 cones” etc.) This last thing would be helpful as you wouldnt have to check if the person submitted to the right goal by looking at a list since you would see the sub category. Its also helpful to avoid making mistakes when you submit.
You could make the levels full game categories, make a variable with 10 subcategories for each stage and name each subcategory however you want. This would be slower to get through than the ILs since you cant see every goal at the same time but Im 100% sure that its possible.
#2 more categories:
I guess it could stay since its beginner friendly and all of the stages have letters
You can make a category for achieving every goal in a specific stage, though in some stages like stage 1 you might have to exit and reenter the stage and the mod would have to track all of the goals when they are verifying which would be boring.
In challenge 7 or 8 of stage 1 you have to hit 100 cones, and leaving and reentering the level is needed, which means that either the mod would have to count every cone or you could add extra rules to force players to hit every cone each time they enter the level which makes verifying easier
In one of the supermarket goals you have to make 100 karts go through the register, the problem is that the goal ends when 100 have gone through and you cant tell when its over unless the registers are on the screen. You can make it mandatory to have the registers on the screen when the goal is completed or directly N/A that goal
The problematic goals could make it hard or impossible to verify an “All goals” run, you can allow runners to skip those missions for all goals if thats the best option.
#My dms are open in sr.c and discord to discuss this further. Sorry for the wall of text and thanks for your attention.
Hello, I was checking the leaderboard and I saw the state. Even though they are ok, I think theres a couple changes that could be made to improve the leaderboards and its better to do it now that there arent many runs.
1. Categories distribution: One of the main things you notice is that all of the categories are in the full game area which makes them slower to navigate with the current sr.c format. To improve the page you could move the categories to the Individual levels categories so its easier to navigate and maybe use full game categories for the tournaments or speedruns of all of the levels in one game. You can either: 1) create one level for each type of game (one level for tanks, one for cars, etc.) and then use different categories for each game or 2) Have each level of each game be its own level (Cars level 1, cars level 2…).
2. Categories names: According to the site rules, the use of the % sign should be avoided in category names where it isnt necessary (except for normalised names like any% or 100%) as many members dislike this. I suggest changing the names to “Beat (game)” or, if they are moved to the ILs make each level “Level (x) of (game) and the category should be called “beat the level” (this is for option 2, as discussed option 1 category names would be “level (x)”.
3. Rules: It should be clarified wether or not audio is required
(edit) 4. Other fixes: Here Ill add other fixes that I find
- In the “all car levels” the last level should also be counted as its in the game, leaving it out is a very arbitrary decision and even if it is very similar to the first one (which it isnt completely since less cars=less collisions) its part of the levels and it should be counted Thats it, thanks for your time.
Day 56: Most of you already know this but yes, young specimens of warm-blooded animals (including humans) can die from the lack of physical contact. Its not because of the cold or anything. If they dont get enough contact they die. It can also cause higher stress levels and social anxiety in other cases.
It has appeared with the latest update. It happens to everyone afaik
According to the site rules: In addition, while we are not seeking to police people's Twitch, Twitter, Discord, and other social medias, we may issue bans for the following regardless of if it is on-site or off-site conduct. As with the above list, this is by no means exhaustive.
-Physical threats -Excessive criminal behavior or threats of criminal behavior -Excessive harassment -Blackmail -Posting or seeking personal information (doxxing)
Note: it didnt take me 1 year. 1 year after getting the glitched wr I came back to see and saw that there was a glitchless category so I got it in a few tries
Ok, using this glitch to manipulate the timer will be forbidden.
