The single player trials that we get every week are very fun and most will agree that the challenge is enoyable. Recently the “adrenaline rush” trial was added which is a very fun category (I think I had like a 29s but I didnt record bc I didnt know it was a category, I really liked it) and I think its a good idea.
The adrenaline rush, however, isnt a one-off, since most trials (and all of the speed-trials) can be fun and could be added to the site to increase the competition.
Also, even though this is a speedrunning, website, Id consider adding all of the trials, not only speed trials but also the highscore ones since they are also relying on speed.
As of how it could be done, I can provide a few options:
-Each trial could be an individual level. All of the trials would be in the Individual Levels section. If only the speed trials were added we would only need 1 category, but if all of them are added, you would need 2 categories. One called being timed by timer like normal and the other having ascending timer ranking for highscore. Only 1 category would be used in each level.
-Each trial could be a category, either visible or in the Misc. section (Id suggest using misc. for better browsing). This way, each level could have its own timing rules (ascending for highscore trials and descending timer for speedruns). You wouldnt need to make subcategories, however, it would be less convenient than ILs and slower to browse. -You could have a “Trials” category in full game with each trial being a subcategory. This would be the worst option as it would be even slower to browse than misc. and youd need to have 2 categories, one for speedrun trials and one for highscores. This is the worst of all but its still an option. In my opinion, the first option would be the best. Its fast to browse and it looks good. As an example of how it would work, you can check out the IL leaderboards for Tap The Frog: Doodle, which use the ILs with ascending/normal timer categories and it works perfectly.
If you want some advice Im my dms are open here and on discord. I like this game a lot and I love speedrunning so Im ready to help if you need.
Thanks for your time and sorry for the massive text wall.
Runs shorter than 5 minutes could have milliseconds to untie people
It would be interesting and the IL section could be used. Coop would also be interesting, however there arent many runners so we wont see many coop runs
Who even is this guy? Ive never seen this guy in my life
welcome
@jackzfiml its the talk forum, relax. I know who they are but I have no idea whats going on between them, I didnt know that they had drama or talked to each other. Maybe you could explain it here
