Do you want each button to be like a keyboard button? Or would you want to modify it so that it only works as a joypad?
On a side note - 3D platforming isn't bad with an analogue stick, it depends on the age and quality of the controller. Cheaper controllers have a lower range of movement than a good controller. This can make precise control awkward, janky and imprecise, and I say this from personal experience having used a cheap game brand controller for my original runs, then moving to a better controller later on. The improvement of having a precise movement range makes controlling things so much smoother.
Yeah, I was looking for a cheap mic too recently, found a video reviewing 5 mics under $50. The Snowball was the best one, but the main downside described was the fact that it was USB and couldn't be plugged into an audio interface.
Blue Snowball is an excellent mic on a budget, but can't be attached to any audio devices because it's a USB plug. If you ever look to upgrade go for a Blue Yeti, and then get an audio interface for it too.
If using a video camera make sure it is one that records at a stable frame rate, and that runs at a multiple of whatever the TV/Monitors refresh rate. (For a 60Hz TV make sure it's a 30/60FPS camera, 50Hz a 25FPS) This just ensures you're not skipping frames that help keep verifying runs easier.
You wouldn't be able to do it with an analogue stick because they use rotational gears as far as I am aware.
It doesn't matter if it appears in a game or not, if the song has been added to the DMCA list it will be muted. From personal experience the Lego Batman soundtrack will get claims on it because they use the film's music score even though it's in a game.
The Life is Strange OST probably gets claims on it because it's licensed music, which means the game producers will have permission to use the music, but don't own the music. As such the producers of the music, DontNod Entertainment have probably requested it to be on the DMCA lists.
No, nothing can be done. It sounds like the database condenses underscores down to a single underscore.
Can we get this thread deleted, was a spam thread then people decided to reply to it for some illogical reason. http://www.speedrun.com/Introductions/thread/uw9xg
- Most custom icons are actually the Twitch partner badges. Anyone on the site that is a partner on Twitch it grabs their badge icon.
- I only know of a couple of users who have custom icons. They are hard-coded into the site as far as I'm aware. One was for doing work on the site, the other was given to someone who donated over $300 if I remember correctly. Because the icons are hard coded there wouldn't be an upload page, you'd need to go through a site admin to add/change it.
Splits are optional, however you can add them buy uploading your splits file to splits.io then pasting in the URL to the splits i/o ID field.
All of the TTGames Lego games are really fun to play and I've enjoyed running them, there is a decent community around the games, but there are some of the games that don't have any runs/routes/glitches done or found for them.
What platforms do you have available to you and do you have any specific genre in mind?
If the game has an overlay on it (Such as a steam game, Games for Windows Live, etc.) Then you will need to run Livesplit in Administrator mode, you will also want to have Global Hotkeys active (As mentioned above)
Already reported, Lighnator was having problems replicating it. Notifications were/are turned off for a while whilst it's sorted.
Don't know, but I know the notifications were turned off site wide. Lighnator was having trouble replicating the problem locally though.
As far as I am aware, though I can certainly be wrong, Mods and Hacks are bundled under the same distinction currently.
But if we're talking technicalities here Mods and Hacks are the same thing, but mods make changes "legally" so to speak through tools given by the developers whilst hacks are changes forcefully made, created through tools made by the communities around them instead of the developers.
