im p sure tecnicaly 8-4 also has a framerule to leave the level after its completion, the same way than every castle, the only reason it doesnt matter in full speedruns is because of the timing decided by the speedrunning comunity given that it is the very last level

anyhow, not advocating myself for the defense of ILs, but every level could have an IL that takes in account every frame with a correct timing (prob the way would be ending time when the flag gets up in the end of each level, or touching the axe in the other castles too)

lol havent tried to find that seed concretly if it exists but i found that you could tecnicaly complete 1 line only with the first 4 levels of world 1 with these 5:

• Go without collecting the 8-2 secret exit (automatic completion lul)
• Use no more than one cannon (2nd automatic completion omegalul)
• Defeat Lemmy Twice (beat 1-F twice)
• Get a perfect Red Toad House (the one on top of 1-2)
• Reach 99 lives (wahoo best category in src)

taking it from the smo comunity, 1 line or 3 lines bingo sounds to me like the best ideas you could take for runs; is true that completing the whole board could mean a lot of the game completion with a lot of similarities betwen runs for a linear game like this, but not sure how would it end up (in smo i have speedrunned full board, but it is quite a more open world game)

not gonna be a huge devil's advocate here, but it wouldn't realy do any bad still, as a variable doesnt change anything in the leaderboard other than informing about something like the version at which you are playing, which could help someone do contrasts betwen run even if someone marked it wrong in purpose, it wouldnt damage anyone

looking through the extensions of the rules about mods, the only info about sodium is in the 1.16 section saying this: "For 1.16.1, ONLY Sodium 0.2.1+build.10 by jan-leila." not sure if that means it is only allowed specificaly in 1.16.1 or smth

not sure if there is an actual method marked to "appeal a rejected run", but essentialy the run should be accepted as long as it is legal and the submission follows all the requirements if it is rejected, it will be marked why was it, and there is a pretty low chance that the run will be unrejected if it was rejected in first place anyhow, if you are completly convinced a run was rejected for a false reason by an error, best prob would be just resubmitting it a 2nd time

if you mean using a mod that gives you a timer inside the game, that's probably not allowed but you can use any timer external to the game
