Washington, USAThe old version is also basically just for 51TE, 100%, and Max% currently. The most recent patch version is needed for Any%, since it has introduced Ground Surfing, to allow gate skip.
Hardcore doesn't change the run aside from not being allowed to do deathwarps for any category. And it also removed keyboard movement for Outback. So in Any% you'd just lose.. 2-3 minutes? Over only 2 levels. and everything else is the same. 100% would change more because there's a lot more death warping. But no one in the discord really felt it worth making categories for hardcore.
I made a video tutorial for Any%. It should be in the Ty 1 guides section. There are a couple things that are outdated. Most of it shown in the extra videos linked in the description. And for other things you can also join the Ty discord and ask questions. You should be able to find the link to it in the Ty series forum here. Other than that, I don't really know what to say. It depends on what you'll end up having trouble with. Which is always good to ask in the discord for a quick response. Plenty of us are usually online anyway.
