I mean, it can be a cool thing, even unofficially
`This is a mod so I can't see this becoming a category, yet at least HOWEVER, the first step for even considering it would be to do a run. The discord would love to see it. :)
However, Sub 2:45 is very possible, there is nothing wrong with trying to be the fastest Wii runner :)
Also there are several other reasons as well. Cutscenes are unskippable in Wii version, I believe. I encourage you to run, and to compare against the other Wii runners, but in my semi-expert opinion sub 2:10 would be very hard on the Wii. The lack of sequence breaks (napsacks, early blues, etc) makes the version slower, unfortunately :(
My run rn has a 1:25 day 1 that might be a little more clear. I actually stop while I shift the camera angle for consistency. If you join the discord the whole community can help you too :)
The easiest way to do it is to grab 1 pikmin (good place to start), walk directly back, change the camera angle, then continue walking forward till you naturally reach the corner. From there, LIGHTLY hold your control stick back until it's in the bush area. Then throw your pikmin, wait till you see olimar readjust, then throw it again. It should be OoB
Ok. If you ever need help doing something specific, please ask. I am a slow learner myself so I developed a lot of different techniques to handle the skips etc.
The main problem with new catagories is we dont even have enough active runners on the main catagories. Why add more catagories? I am the only runner that streams more than once a week, and we only have 29 runners on PoD. We simply don't have the activity to justify adding more catagories. If you want to do a glitchless run and submit to regular pay off debt, that is completely fine :). I just don't see the motivation to separate those runs.
I don't have that information sadly. You can't see your captain, so its hard to know where the line is. What I do use is the captain's cursor to look at my location. The OoB line is about 1.3x of the captain's width from the edge of inbounds, although this is not precise. I would like to help you as much as possible, but I can only give you what I do know. The reason why I look at the cursor is that it helps me when I can see the cursor clearly. Mapping the full OoB would be very difficult without code.
Both lugia and I have videos in guides that help show how to navigate this area, since it is the hardest. Visualizing the line is good but a lot of it comes down to muscle memory and feel
Agreed. It is not like we have a saturation of runs, even in Pay Off Debt to be honest. I love doing no-death runs casually and for practice but I don't see run potential :/
Hello everyone! I'm not new to Pikmin 2 but I am new to the speedrun. While doing my Blue Onion speedrun I try to use the poisoned pikmin cutscene to clip through the rising platform in AW, but it is not working! Olimar just continues to ride the platform. This never happens when I used the dice treasure cutscene for the same purpose. Does anyone know why it might not be working for me?
If you are confused what I am talking about, in my current Blue Onion run here it shows me failing to fall through the platform the first time and needing to use the dice.
