So in short: collect shines faster = overall quicker run even if you have to wait a bit for bowser?

Having seen an any% WR Speedrun of Bowser‘s Fury I want to give this game a try but I habe one big question: can we even beat the game faster? At many points in the run the runner was waiting at the bell for bowser to awaken - even after 50 shines the battle did not start instantly.

Which leaves the question: Are the only possible improvements the first shine and the bowser fights? I don‘t feel like grinding 1h+ long 100% runs but if we can‘t realy speed up the game that would be a bummer :(
