Honestly, I'd rather the mod take the time to make sure I did things correctly. So that maybe when I do improve enough to be in the top 5 or something, my run isn't rejected because there was a rule that I didn't realize I wasn't following because they didn't check before.
But then again, I have the patience to wait for the mod to have enough time to do a proper verification. :3 And Im still really new to this so maybe I'm just being naively idealistic.
To be more specific as to how to find the rules that Timmiluvs described above:
If you search for the game you are wanting to run using the search bar at the top, it will take you to the leaderboard for that game. There should be tabs at the top that show you the different categories. Click on the tab with the category you want and there should be another button on the right that says "View Rules". Clicking that should pop up the rules that the mods have set for that category of the game. If you have a problem with the rules themselves, ask the game's moderators about it.
Good luck on your runs!!
Well it looks like you found the RE2 forums. :3
But have you checked the guides or other resources on the game's page?
If nothing useful is there, check to see if there is a discord you can join for RE2 runners where you can ask questions directly to other runners.
Good luck and hope you improve your times!
there is a marathon forum section directly beneath the 5 main forums. Check some of them out!
One of them was online like 12 days ago. Try contacting them on social media first.
It's Saturday once again!
This week has been about small victories. Cooking delicious food that I'm proud of. Learning how to decompile roms. Finishing a cute little puzzle game with only 50 levels. Stuff like that. XD
Saw one of my friends at college last night and we discovered a Ramen shop close to campus! Truly a hole-in-the-wall, but the food was delicious! Will definitely be going back there again.
because it takes a while for a game to be approved. So it could be that you decide to run a game, put in effort. But only have a small portion of the game routed. You could submit that portion while you worked on finishing the game and by the time you have a full run the game has been approved.
In theory.
I know both Assembly and C. XD
So Bizhawk? I'll look into it later
There aren't really any good guides for the game online. There is a decent FAQ but it doesn't go into mechanics enough and was obviously a semi-thorough passion project and not a 100% thorough process.
What I'm looking for is like how the Pokemon wiki tells you the chance of catching a Pokemon in a certain area at a certain time.
Also the game is long and HIGHLY reliant on RNG for time saving. So RNG manipulation or understand the internals mechanics will be very important. Like how much more damage does the base iron sword do than the base bronze sword? Is there even a difference (I've been questioning this) This is a hard to answer because of many factors. And getting both upgraded "equally" for testing is a pain and the damage values you deal are also in a range.
Should also mention the game is an RPG of sorts
Can the Roms you load when using the BGB emulator for GB be reverse engineered to get the game code? Would help me with routing a game I'm working on because not much is on the Internet about the game.
I think it's something the mods themselves denote about the board when they set it up. Not at my computer right now (on mobile) so I can't confirm.
I also think that people hating the idea of paying $1 or $2 for an app is stupid. Yet we routinely drop more than that for so many things. Your phone is a computer too so I'm not opposed to the free trial/ demo business model here. It's actually the best. The software isn't behind a paywall at the beginning so you can at least try it.
The other option is Ads. I prefer the demo system over ads.
OH cool! just found out that you can put Kewne away in the bag as soon as you get into the tower and it skips the tutorial! Nice!
How long has it been since you tried to message him? An hour? A day? A week? Two months?
Timelines helps the site mods and full mods understand severity. :)
I actually popped in on the guy's stream. He's a real guy who plays destiny and helps people... I guess he is also trying to grow his channel in extreme ways as well by using giveaways and such. also the donations were more for priority. He also just helped anyone in chat if they needed it as well... He seemed nice but just is advertising himself as a douche.
