We are excited to announce the leaderboard for Monster Hunter Rise is open for submissions!
I wanted to take the time to explain some of the decisions we made for the submission process:
Individual Levels • Full video recordings are required: Unfortunately, the game can still be modded on Switch. Because of this, we need full runs to verify consistent and unedited damage. • Damage values must be active and visible: This is part of our verification process to ensure players aren't using modded equipment or damage values. This also means recordings with lower resolution may be unverifiable if the values cannot be read. • Showing skills and equipment: If you're familiar with previous MH games, this is an ongoing requirement to verify legal equipment. This also grants us the ability to recreate your run and circumstances if required. • Multiplayer submissions require all POVs: In order to confirm ALL PLAYERS are using legal equipment, all players must record their runs with all verification procedures. A single submission for all 4 runners can be done with the other 3 POVs in the description.
Real Time Attack / Any% • Start Time on START NEW FILE or OVERWRITE CHARACTER confirmation: Time begins when you select the New File or Overwrite a file. Files cannot be deleted in Rise, so Overwriting will be most common. There is a second selection to confirm you want to overwrite the file. This is the preferred method. • Stop Time when target monster is killed/captured: Time stops the moment the monster is captured or killed. The same time the end quest timer appears. Any miss-splits will be readjusted, but practice and understand when time stops (and starts). • Timer and Full Video: As usual, a full video recording (with audio) showing Start and Stop time is required. Livesplit is a great tool for this! • All Add-ons Content from Senri the Mailman is Prohibited: This means items, item packs, layered armors, and other bonuses acquired through the "Add-ons Content" menu from Senri is prohibited. Testing has shown your internet connection can effect how quickly the content is collected. Additionally, not all regions or players received every item pack available. To maintain an even playing field, all Add-ons Content is prohibited. • HUB ONLY: Village Special License quests are Prohibited: To maintain the category as Hub Only, the Special License quests available in Village have been prohibited from the Hub% categories.
This is a new game and a lot of information. If you every have questions comment in this thread or discuss on the community Discord!
Good Luck and Happy Hunting! ~JalBagel
ATTENTION RISE HUNTERS We are all excited for the release of Monster Hunter Rise and looking forward to speedrunning the game! At this time we are issuing an embargo on Rise Speedrun Submissions for TWO WEEKS. The embargo will be lifted on April 9. This will give the moderation team time to play and enjoy the game as well as learn it to develop new verification rules and resources.
During this time you may see quests become available on the leaderboards and other changes. DO NOT SUBMIT until the embargo is over. Any runs submitted during this time (excluding Demo2 submissions) will be rejected without review. We ask you paitently wait for the embargo to be lifted and verification/game rules be established.
Thank you for your coorporation, and we'll see you in Kamura Village hunters! ~JalBagel

Hello everyone! We've had some questions and sloppy submissions recently to the leaderboards, so I've recorded a short video showing how you can make submissions!
The biggest takeaway from this video is really:
Use "Time" for Any% runs Use "In-game Time" for IL runs
I hope this video clears some things up and doesn't create more confusion! Let me know if there are still any unanswered questions!

With the addition of Iceborne we recieved the Guardian Armor and Early Weapon Upgrade Materials Pack as limited release redeemables to the game. These items are only available to redeem until October 3, 2019 ( http://www.imgur.com/gallery/qgzYjMQ ). Therefore, these items have been included in the DLC tag for all Any% categories.
The DLC rules will be updated to follow these changes.

This post is to provide additional clarification on the Any% Multiplayer (2 through 4 player) categories.
The following change will appear on the Any% rules: "Any% Multiplayer (2 - 4 players): Complete all Assigned Quests up to [Goal] with all participating players/hunters. All hunters must be present in the Assigned Quest when it is completed to be a valid mission."
This means all participating players must all be present in the assigned quest when completed. There is only one assigned quest this is not possible in: "Jagras of the Ancient Forest." Every quest following, including "Bird-brained Bandit," can be done multiplayer.
Note: This does not mean all member must be present when the assigned quest starts, only when it is finished. If a member is not present when the assigned quest is completed, then all members must re-attempt the assigned quest via the member who did not complete it or run is no longer valid.
Feel free to discuss these changes in the thread, including any new routing changes for Multiplayer.
Recently, the use of Overlays in IL runs was questioned in the MH Speedrun Discord community. This discussion lead to a community opinion vote on the inclusion of Overlays as "permitted mods." The outcome of that poll can be seen here: http://imgur.com/gallery/90E5pL5
The results showed a nearly 2:1 vote against the use of Overlay mods in IL runs. Between the poll results and feedback from community members in the community discord server, the use of Overlays is NOT PERMITTED. The Permitted Mods document has been updated to reflect this change, and can be viewed here: http://bit.ly/mhwpcmods
If you have further questions regarding the changes to IL runs, please reach out to a Mod or ask on the Discord (link in sidebar).
