The text mashing really has nothing to do with it, It was the fact we could not determine if emulator was accurate enough to allow it for RTA. Recent research shows promising results and emulator is pretty close to console now than ever.

This is a on going discussion with the other runners if it should be allowed so just have to wait and see when when we will allow it.

If allowed it would be regulated with strict rule sets to make it fair.

You will have to be more specific on the question.

To clarify the misconception due to my part the "Runs must start from a visible Power On/Reset to be considered valid" rule applies to everyone including console runners.

We have discussed this for a while and have decided to make some rule changes for emulator runners.

From now on all runs must start from a visible Power On/Reset to be considered valid (this includes console). Any use of save states or other emulator functions after the reset and before the In Game Time is displayed at the end of the credits invalidates the run.

The reason for this decision is because of how easy it is to load cheats into memory from a save state and create dirty SRAM (Modified Save Data). The other reason is in theory you could get the same RNG seed every time and gain a advantage starting from a save state.

We hope you understand our decision and can continue to enjoy running fusion.

TL;DR: Runs must start from a Power on/Reset and the use of any emulator exclusive functions after the reset and before the In Game Time is displayed invalidates your run.

Also the runs that don't currently have video under those in game times are legacy times, times we know are legit.

We are taking it dead serious when it comes to runs that are sub 50 in game time for any% and sub 1:10 in game time for 100%.

From now on if your run meets that criteria you will be required to provide a video of the whole run from start to finish with out dying or reloading a save, Otherwise you will be rejected, Simple as that. On top of that all 1% runs need video proof regardless of time.

Why we are doing this? It's because of how easy it is to fake a time on the end screen such as doing a segmented run or using a cheat device (for example http://bombch.us/B4Zg ).

In short, Please provide video of the whole run if your run is sub 50 IGT for any% and sub 1:10 for 100% and all 1% runs need video proof.

We hope you understand this and not think we are being harsh.

Emulator is fine but the real time gets discarded because of how inaccurate the emulator timing is, the in game time on emulator would still be allowed on the leaderboards.

For what emulator? I would recommend the tool assisted version of Visual Boy Advance which is available at tasvideos.org , this version of vba fixes the lag. Use it until the new more accurate emulator is out.

If possible you should invest in some capture equipment and a gameboy player.
