Thank you for being honest. Unfortunately, I'll have to mark the run as rejected due to the mod usage and the fact that the video is no longer available.
Our rule against mods is partly based on the fact that we don't know to what extent each mod might affect the game. The FPS unlocker in particular modifies stuff regarding game physics and animation speeds. While I can't tell you "how" this mod affect game behavior, I can definitely guarantee that these changes could lead to otherwise impossible behaviors.
I owe you one for this one because I'm certain that this would have never been noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. You're super real for this. if you want some compensatory individual coaching or help with the run or anything like that then feel free to let me know. My DMs are also always open to questions about the rules.

I forgot that we never posted anything about these issues here on speedrun.com. Sorry about that. Since the DLC for Elden Ring came out, there have been issues with anti-virus flagging the files for our LiveSplit plugin (called SoulSplitter). Many people setting up LiveSplit for Sekiro speedruns, will experience this or a similar issue when trying to Activate SoulSplitter.
The most common issue is that Windows Defender (or other Anti-Virus like Avast etc) will quarantine the files without giving you a notification. Here is the guide on how to fix that: https://soulsspeedruns.com/livesplit/#troubleshooting
However, sometimes simply adding the anti-virus exclusions won't make SoulSplitter work. Or maybe the files don't even appear under the quarantined files list. In that case, you need to manually download the SoulSplitter component files from GitHub. A short tutorial on how to do that: 1. Close LiveSplit. 2. Go to https://github.com/FrankvdStam/SoulSplitter/releases 3. Download the zip file from whatever is the latest version. (do not download the ones named "source code"). 4. Extract the zip file. 5. Navigate to your LiveSplit components folder. 6. Drag the extracted files into the LiveSplit\components folder (replace old files if asked). 7. Apply the anti-virus fix explained here: https://soulsspeedruns.com/livesplit/#troubleshooting
Hope this helps anyone who sees it in the future.
For anyone stopping by here in the future, this run was the world record for about 2 hours, from September 10th 2024 at about 9pm until about 11pm (UTC), where it was beaten by WormDog. Unfortunately, the website's system does not allow us to include it in the history tab because the runs were set on the same day.
EDIT: We managed to figure out a workaround. The leaderboard should now accurately show the history.
Also on another note, I saw that someone made a remaster of this map. Maybe we should look into requesting a page for that to be created? I haven't played it yet, so I should probably do that first haha. To see if it's actually meaningfully different.
Here's the link for the remaster: https://www.minecraftmaps.com/48031-the-tourist-remastered
Yea, the idea would be to play the map kind of like how the map was intended to be completed with a few optimizations and shortcuts that do not "violate the spirit of the map". So you could call it a sort of story% run haha.
That's fair enough. Different communities have different opinions regarding this. In the Sekiro speedrun community, we remove runs without video because it is often impossible to beat the record if you can't view and analyze it. And it can be abused, like I could go get a record with a new strat and then delete the run to make it harder for subsequent runners to beat it. (Which is kind of the situation we are in right now, although I doubt that Orchid had any ill intent behind it). Anyway, the Any% time should still be beatable without using the new timesave that they came up with. Just need to grind out a good spawn and then not mess up haha. And Restricted should be pretty beatable too.
Some time ago, OrchidCNR deleted all their youtube videos. The WR for Any% and Restricted are currently held by them, but the videos are gone.
Without video, it is very difficult trying to figure out what time can be saved in order to beat them. I know that the runs have already been verified by a moderator, and so they are obviously legitimate (I also watched them back when they happened) but because there is no footage, it can be hard for people to view them as legitimate WRs.
In my opinion, these should be removed. But obviously there's a conflict of interest in me asking that because it would make me the WR holder again. I already messaged the moderator Noob about it, but I didn't feel like it really got anywhere, so I thought I would make a forum post.
So far All Iron Doors has been a bit of a meme mainly because the rules have been unclear, so here is my take on how we could potentially change it so that it could be a nice run.
I think the original idea behind "all iron doors" was to have a category that did not use any skips. I can't be sure though, but that is the direction I think would be cool for this category. So my idea is that we rename it to Any% No Skips, and the requirements will be the same, every iron door that the map creator intended for you to open to complete the map, need to be opened.
I will compile a concrete list at some point and make a little guide so that there is no confusion about what doors need to be opened. But basically this would make the category be like how the first run that moustachebleue submitted, where every puzzle is completed and nothing is really skipped: https://www.speedrun.com/mcm_tt/runs/yd6312jz
My idea is that small shortcuts would still be allowed, as long as you do not skip over puzzles/iron doors that the map creator intended for you to complete/open. An example of a shortcut like this would be at 2:12 in moustachebleue's run:
Timestamp (2:12)
I think the category should also require you to follow all the map rules like in Any%. So moustachebleue's 22:40 would be inducted as the first world record for this category.
I would like to hear what you guys think about this. Maybe I am going in the complete wrong direction with this, but I think it could be cool. I'm pretty open to create new categories, since I think the shorter categories on this are a little grindy/boring.
Edit: typos.
Yo guys, it's been a while. I just wanted to let you know that I am still here, and have read your posts. I think so far I am not gonna implement the re-timing on the dimensional loading, but I can look at it again in the future if you want me to. Any feedback you wish to give is welcome. I have some time to put aside for this now because things are going pretty smoothly over on Sekiro, which is the other game I moderate.
Atm it doesn't seem like there really would be that many runs to add to a leaderboard like that. Some people in China have run it, mainly Freedom_JS. We usually create leaderboards to track competition so if more people start running it then it could probably get added. If you're curious about what the fastest runs/strategies are, it can always be found on Freedom_JS's bilibili channel.
Downpatching on PC is easy, but downpatching on console is basically not possible because it requires you to have a jailbroken console (google can tell you what "jailbroken console" means). I don't think these scenarios can be compared, the console leaderboards should probably get split since it's theoretically possible that the old WR is unbeatable due to the patch differences, even though the category is really inactive.
PS5 does have a way to store multiple savefiles (on the cloud or on a USB drive? I can't remember), but on PC, you can have thousands of savefiles and we have access to practice tools. The practice/learning experience may be more enjoyable on PC and you also won't be able to disable tutorial pop-ups on console.
In terms of the patches, most runs are optimally performed on current patch (1.06). On PC you may see some people on 1.04, but the difference between 1.04, 1.05 and 1.06 comes down to minor technicalities and they're all considered optimal. Only No Airswim is optimal on old patch (1.02), but the current console WR uses current patch, so it should be no issue. On a side note, it's not possible to downpatch on console, if you wanted to play the old patch, then you would need an original disc copy.
Apart from the opening cinematic, during cutscenes/cinematics the In-Game Timer still ticks.
On PC, the cutscene loading in and fading out has been cut out by the LiveSplit Plugin, however time still runs during the actual cutscene.
