As far as I know it's purely rng based, or it can be as you said a hardware thing. But yeah you are right in my run for example it's pretty rng based, how I do it is I just close every app except obs, livesplit and my browser.

@BressiaFire on the level complete screen of level 9 I just buffer left and when you go in the portal of lvl 10 you can hold up arrow to 'stick' to the ceiling.
