I wanted to get others opinion on what versions should be allowed on the leaderboards since we don't have set rules about it.
Right now I think we are only allowing versions after full release of Thronefall (2.x). Important updates since then have been:
2.04 made Moorweg boss easier
2.06 removed extra research stations on Totend and made final boss easier.
2.11 added the last of the mini modes
Why I want to get set rules for this is Totend will likely be faster pre 2.06 due to how much more powerful the extra research stations can make you (I have not tested this), but with the addition of the last mini modes in 2.11 any runs in the future that have to include these mini modes would have to be after this patch.
With version 2.04, any full game, single weapon, and level runs would be able to have this likely faster Totend in the run, but any runs that include completing all mini modes wouldn't. There are currently no runs that include mini modes, but I think it would be a good idea to add individual mini mode categories and a 100% category.
Is it worth it to not allow pre 2.11 patches since this was the last content update for the game?
OR should we allow the above mentioned runs to be on an earlier patch and only allow runs that include mini modes to be after 2.11?
Remember this all hinges on pre 2.06 Totend being faster than current version Totend which I believe is highly likely.
I think it would be fine if we kept most IL runs currently on the leaderboard with the exception of old Neuland runs since the tutorial was slightly lengthened.
Current any% can be archived but we need to make sure it is stated that you can’t submit to it since the 5 levels catergory caused some confusion.
I also think we could combine the mutator / non mutator categories could be combined since the main mutator used in mutator runs being the pray to war mutator which has been removed. We could add a category for highest mutator count but that isn’t needed on release.
Keeping the runs for individual weapons is also a good idea and possibly an any% from a fresh save file has been made possible with the reset progress button that has been added
Keeping the 5 level leaderboard for now is a very good idea and can be done again in the future.
An idea for new categories could be an all quests run or individual categories for completing all quests of a single level. A full game run of this could be this games “100%” category but I don’t think that needs to be added to the leaderboard until the game is out of early access.
