I got my left controller back! I’m so excited to start doing runs again!
This is great, I love a little competition! My left controller stopped working the day I submitted my last run, but I'm getting a new one soon and I'll be chasing this leaderboard one last time before fully committing to rotweiners! Always great watching your runs! Love the friendly back and fourth we got goin on!
My personal thought on Return of the Rotwieners speedruns are as follows as I run the category very often:
-
All quests, should be literally all quests, including the red lumberjack quest, and the basement quest. The end sosig does NOT say "Everything" if you did not do these two quests. And it would be easy to verify if all quests are done by waiting for him to say "Everything". This does NOT include 100%-ing the run, as that would mean getting all store items purchased, and all end game requirements finished such as 200 gun/melee kills ect... And no, I don't think we need a 100% category unless requested.

I think that dying and reloading should be allowed, HOWEVER, it will be more fun and challenging to have a deathless run. I think having too many categories would be too cumbersome for the leaderboards and would make running something less enticing due to there being several different leaderboards for so many different categories especially since it's such a small community of runners right now. So I don't think it would be a great idea to have a deathless category. My thoughts on this are, you SHOULD be allowed to die/reset during your run. After doing many runs, I learned that there are only a few instances where resetting would give you a time save, but it would also give you somewhat of a time loss on the hardcore difficulty. The arcade difficulty allows you to quick travel to home at any point keeping your inventory, but losing your weapon, which is especially not worth it if you already got all the golden statues. There are many strategies that may allow resetting to be faster, but for a hardcore run, it is almost never worth resetting or dying. Therefore, I think in my opinion, you are allowed to die/reload scene whenever you want, because they have their own benefits and drawbacks.
(2 extended) For example, let's say you wanted to grab a golden statue from old wienerton, the furthest possible town away from the deposit shelf, if you grabbed the statue and reloaded scene, you would lose the statue. If you deposited the statue first, and then reloaded the scene, you would teleport back to the honey hamlet, however you would lose your main weapon, meaning you'd need to re-breach into a checkpoint again to get an assault rifle/battle rifle back. And in hardcore, you'd typically want to use all your meat cores to charge the batteries before you die/reset, but there would be no benefit to reloading the scene after charging a teleporter because you could just teleport back.

I do not think you should have outside help, I think being in a call with someone, or having a twitch chat should be allowed, however it would be hard to moderate those things because the runner could look at twitch chat and the moderator would not know what's on there, so this rule should be more lenient. I learned that just knowing the morse code for example, and knowing the route of the run, is much faster than getting help from an outside source when it comes to HIGH LEVEL running. So I personally don't think it would effect runs much if at all. Therefore, I think help is fine, due to it's low impact on the run until further notice.

I think at least it should become habit to use HD spectator. The tournament uses it for easier viewing, and we can see quick belt slots easier, and have a nicer FOV. I don't think we should invalidate sexy_mustards run for not using HD spectator, I don't think it should then be implemented as a rule, but as a suggestion? With certain limits, to prevent large zooming in or out discrepancies like someone using 200 fov or 20 fov. Limits should be explored, and made part of the rules to avoid issues such as those. Therefore, I think there should only be rules on limits of the FOV for the HD spectator panel.
As for everything else, I don't enjoy moderating but I really enjoy running! If we can't get another moderator before October I'll volunteer so that we can hopefully get more players speedrunning, and put a load off of the wonderful hxoneybeez!
