very quick good job (also im changing the rules for this slightly because I overlooked something [spawning as a slave])
Just tell me what categories you want added, and I'll add them. Most I removed were gimmicky ones that nobody wanted to attempt.
Edit: For now, I'll just add some categories people may want to attempt. When I originally made this post, nobody was speed running this game, so my mindset has kind of changed.
Had it before and no one did it, I'll readd it
I could just add an Eyegore imprisonment run for you. I'll add any faction leader/higher up if they are going to be speedran. I feel like marking it as the Eyegore + Tengu run would be over complicating it as it'd be the only one like that, but making Eyegore his own category wouldn't be.
Tell me if you want this
Thank you. That fixed everything.
Hey, so I got the kenshi speedrunning up and running a few weeks ago. Upon a users request, I added a variable to the categories. After this, all existing speedruns disappeared. They still exist as I can find the links connected to profiles, but they refuse to show up on the board even after trying to remake them/edit them to fit the new variables. Any tips on getting them appear and how to prevent this in the future? Thanks
For now, I'll add it as a variable like the UI selection. I also will add time with and without loads because other games seem to have that.\
Edit: Updated it, and readded the runs. It'll take a bit for them to appear again.
I just verified it. I did not expect within two minutes of me waking up for someone to get a 4 second run
Also for now I'm trying to not add too many categories as I was told by speedrun community members that it can get the speedrun removed if it's not active, so we'll see.
From my experience so far, having lower multipliers has actually made the runs a lot harder. Yes, a lower multiplier makes survival easier, but training took so much longer because I had to wait for more enemies.
Currently, the timer is only optional as it just makes it easier for everyone, but if you cannot run it then don't worry about it. You can always use a google timer or some other alternative to keep track for yourself on a different device (which you don't have to do). Either way, the main part is just calculating your time after the run when load times are removed.
I will totally add it if you are willing to speedrun it. Edit: I'll also probably remove some unused categories. I honestly just want to add what people want to compete in
Well I guess I'll see if I can create viable speedrun categories for Kenshi without just flooding it. I'm thinking kill a main faction leader would be the simplest category (in the game there are tons of factions with leaders, but there are about 5 main leaders of the factions that control the world), so I think that may be interesting if the category is just find and kill one of them.
Garsh well I play multiple open ended games, the one I'm thinking the most about is Kenshi. The game lasts forever, and there is no ending besides death (as they are permanent in that game), but there are several things you could speedrun to e.g. killing a certain boss, getting a certain item, or getting a certain cash or stat value. I guess as the technical way to end the game, you could speedrun dying in that game.
Could games without a visible ending be speedrun? If the game lasts forever is that allowed and the speedrun goal is set to something specific in the game?
