So when writing it, I wasnt able to find the memory address for the Item amount of Batteries in your inventory. I had it split on map change so then it would always split for the final split at the end.
I'm currently having PC issues at the moment so haven't been able to update it :(
Currently, if you want to split on collecting batteries, I would disable the AutoSplitter and split manually.
I am able to use a tool that will extract the times from a YT video, so I can do that when verifying the run.
And welcome :)
Tech #1 - Retaining Inputs
So I found that if you Enable "Hold Toggle" in the Gameplay Settings. You can retain the E input to make transition doors work faster. You tap E on a corpse/container and look away before the dial complete. You then head to where you want to use it. This works 100% of the time
Tech #2 - Kill Animation Skips
So I discovered that you can kill someone by "walking into them" while hitting C. I managed to do this to Molly the Trader regularly but jumping over the small wall and spinning and hitting C. I believe its because the Animation of landing hasn't finished so it skips her execution animation.
so what i do for the jump is to Jump while facing right, then mid-jump, turn the character to the left and then quickly switch back and jump again (at the apex of the jump). it does take some time to practice but thats how ive managed to pull it off.
luckily i had my controller inputs captured on my run so you can slow it down and see how i do it.
Thanks :) I tested 60fps, 120fps and 1000fps. There's actually no difference thankfully. A different game I speedrun is very FPS dependant so was wondering if that were the case here too.
I managed to get a 52:52 on 60fps and a 52:46 on 120fps.
also. here's the Herbert dialogues.
I might have to do some investigating as I see you're locked at 60fps. I was uncapped at 1100fps average. I expect it's going to be speeding up animations or movement as watching your run, there isn't many faults. You even got the fastest voice line from Herbert in the shed near the end too so you gained 10s on me minimum.
If it is FPS based, then I might ask if we have the runs be at 120fps max (which matches PS5) so then we are all on the same playing field. And obviously I would remove this run and try again.
I saw you mentioned about meeting Ron and having the Timesave by not leaving early. its actually the same amount of time if not slower waiting.
The reason for this is that you leave after the dialogue has finished but if you have already left, it will automatically load the next scene.
Meeting Bish for the first time though gives you a 4s timesave if you smack all the fish in the display until the Cigs appear.
Im eventually going to make a guide on the time saves available
Damn! that's nice of the Devs to pop into streams. I'm excited to see if we can find any large skips and not just Biffa Skips :P
yeah, it looked like you tried to move left instead of right.
I may start making a guide with pathings and an overall map for new runners. just recorded a 53:06
Just by looking at your run, you failed a part where you stroke the "dog" (LS time 54:33). i believe that if you fail one of the scenes it will loop the previous group of scenes losing a lot of time.
I think the optimal time for the sequence is 2:16. I was unable to check Beanjuiced's time fully. I'll gather as much info as i can on it to see what the time losses would be on a singular missed scene.
I'll give it a check. I have a 53:30 pending. I absolutely mashed the buttons on mine so I'll time them to see what the differences are.
Wondering if HC and World Tier specific leaderboards would be available. I would be interested in runnning a Hardcore character. It would also make it a lot spicier for taking risks in runs
