Any% or No Major Glitches? You can get it as low as 1 kill with glitches if you don't count Drones as kills. Never tried No Major Glitches Least Kills tho.
Any% Least Kills Route - PB: around 28 minutes, 2 kills.
Intro and Junkyard: Same as any%.
Mines: Same as any% until Drone Skip.
- For Drone Skip: DO NOT DEPOSIT BIOMASS before going into Leviathan Reef Base. Take damage instead, so you can recover your health at Reef's starting hive.
Water: Your first and only kill is the Mech before the exit.
Relith HQ: Door Clip after grabbing Parasitism 1 to avoid another forced kill.
Ending: Drag everyone out of the Parasitism 2 room so they don't die in the explosion.
General Tips
- Never leave biomass behind. Your only source of biomass in this route is the bonus mass from grabbing Xiphorrhea (Dash).
- Grabbing deals damage. Avoid grabbing the same human multiple times.
- In case you didn't know, hives recover the exact amount of health you lost in combat, with an upper cap (don't know how much).
You could just split when a level ends. Most of them end on a loading screen, with the exception being the transition from 5 to 6. For the start of Apotheosis, I would split when you regain control, I think.
Problem with a "Current Version" category is that it gets all messy with 1 patch. Separating by glitches is a little more future-proof.
@a_speedy_gorilla I've been planning on making updated speedrunning guides for ages, but never end up finishing them, so here's a quick explanation for now.
You can clip through those doors that go up and down by dashing at a certain angle (try to copy my cursor position, those clips are even less consistent otherwise). ETABs help in keeping the force going so you're more likely to clip with one dash.
If you don't know how ETABs work, you're basically cancelling the step that stops the dash force from stopping, so you keep dashing as long as the button is held.
ETAB: Hold E -> Tab -> Tab while holding E
(E being Dash and Tab being Parasitism, you can do this even on controller)
Door Clips with ETAB are a little easier, and also allow for clipping though one more type of door (block doors, the ones that close instantly in like 4 frames).
