Hey, is there really an accuracy problem with the yt-timer method? Even when going frame by frame?
I wouldn't see any theorical problem about using the autosplitter, but I'm not quite confident it is perfect either.. Have you tried it on more advanced levels?
Also, it isn't really publicly available yet, I will try to look into this soon.
Hey, congrats!
Just for info, we used to time with yt-timer, in this run time would be 07s:933ms https://yt-timer-1806.glitch.me/?v=0YREEOt0gLE&t=1.934&u=9.867
I think we should keep using this for now, so we don't force people to use the autosplitter I'll allow myself to retime your run, but you're still rank#1 by far!
Hey, sorry for the delay Link is dead but I had added the splits to the official livesplit list, so you should be able to find it directly in the settings
Yeah that's a bit complicated actually, I had to find some informations that were stored in memory when Caesar is running, and with this we can try to guess what it corresponds to, there are informations that I guessed were "is the game started?" and "has the player won".
With this I've been able to detect when a game is started and when it's won. It's not 100% accurate though, and will need more work if we want it to work for a full game run, but it's fine for single levels :)
Hey, I found it quite annoying to not know what time I was making after doing a good run, having to manually time it.
So I started working on an autosplitter. For now it's just really basic, but I thought other people would probably want it :p
Here's what it looks like in use:
And here's the .asl file to load in Autosplitter: https://file.io/lAwo5QOtWkyb
I gotta admit, I didn't expect it to be so much faster than the usual runs lmao
Hey, congrats!
I allowed myself to retime your run to 00:09:201, which is a bit lower than what you set yourself :)
I just need to keep the unemployment low enough for people to join the city, libraries demand 20 workers (if I remember well) . But it could have been another building, as long as it provides some work for citizens :)
I think we don't need more entertainment here, I just built the theatre to allow the homes to evolve, but that's enough if you don't have to make it evolve higher
We'll definitely need milliseconds timers for levels :p
Oh glad Julius allows it itself, but then yes, I guess we'd have to have the final word on whether its ok to fully use this mod or not at first.
I could try developing that "Speedrun mode" feature to Julius later, if I manage to understand how it works :)
I personally am fine with using Julius, we'll see if other peoples have anything against that
Also I was thinking about finding a way to set a few hotkeys (for new buildings essentially), is that ok ? No more than one action per key of course
And congrats for the new top time again :p
Hey!
Haven't tried Julius myself yet (seems nice though). If I understood correctly, Julius is a total recreation of the game. It looks like it's as close as possible to the original, but isn't there a risk it could have an impact on some runs?
Anyway if most of the runners are playing with Julius, then I would say it shouldn't be a problem? I wouldn't mind a poll about it, but I'm not sure we'll get many answers.
