I'm going to echo Kaadzik here and say that if a run sounds interesting, try routing and running it to see if it's any interesting and share it with others in the community. It more people feels like they want to run it, then we can add the category to the leaderboards. What we want to avoid are categories with single runners.
Hello! We have a situation in the Witcher community where two supermods (specifically Nord and Corpseflesh) have been inactive for years now. We have been able to contact them to give supermod to active members of the community, so gaining access is not a problem. The problem is that we just had an incident where some newcomer had contacted one of the aforementioned inactive mods to gain moderator status in the Witcher 3 game and got it without question. We would like to make sure that it doesn't happen again. Therefor, we would like to request the removal of Nord and Corpseflesh from the Witcher series ( https://www.speedrun.com/the_witcher_series ) and all the games thereunder:
Thank you
We're not reluctant to add new categories at all! I'm surprised to hear you say that, nic. To give you a little refresher on why we haven't added Aliatus' 100% run to the leaderboards:
- Aliatus has not shown me personally any interest to make the run into a category.
- No other runners have shown interest in doing a 100% run.
- It's 20+ hours. Beyond the fact that it's a lot to review, it's also a lot of other factors to think about, such as allowed breaks, etc. It's not as easy as it may sound!
That said, this category is short enough so if more people are interested in Laid%/Bang%, hook me up in the Discord server and I'll see what my magic fingers can do!
Us mods have decided that we're going to have a 1-week embargo for submissions at launch so that people feel like they have time to play the game casually before everyone starts speedrunning it.
This means that submissions before the 17th of December will immediately be rejected as per the embargo.
This also gives us time to set up rules for the initial category/categories.
The super mods are inactive, yes, but there haven't been any discussion around the Switch version in the Discord either so there hasn't been any incentive to add it yet! Do you know any unique glitches that appear only on Switch that would incentivize the run in some way?
I like to see a step forward in regards to a Discord server.
On the note of button mashing, I don't like the idea of an autohotkey since it allows third party control of the game. Are there any other mashing-heavy speedrun games out there we can compare with?
