wanna to speak about my updated MG route and how I came to this. Things here is valid only for MG run, not sure if it will be something useful for other runs.

First of all I got this game as a kid on some market (and it was labeled as Pokemon Rush lol), at the beginning og 2000s so I played it on PS1 a lot. I usually came back once per 4-5 year to play the game again and figured out that Kuwagamon/Okuwamon strategy is the most efficient. About speedrun community I learnt mostly from youtube videos from guys (like Wirtual or Karl Jobst) and GDK. First of all I used some info from neoseeker website (like walkthrough or Digivolve/DNA digivolve guides), much later I have found metalkid's website and I thought that is the biggest and most complete DMW2 website. But I've never know about dmw2 discord server and DMW2 comunity and how many amazing things are already done with this game.

I do not have a lot of time to grind something very challenging but I like speedruns. And about a 2 month ago I started DMW2 over again and found "guide to Nerdhood"'s video about DMW2 and speedrunning. I think I cannot challenge now long categories, but hey why not challenge the shortest one. That is how my grind begins.

I got all the maps from the game and started to replicate existed strategies. So in time I've found 2 valid existing routes and called them "4 Gob" and "3 Gazi" . Then I calculated every piece of exp from battles separated it like this:

1. 4 Gob route: RunAway every fight in SCSI, kill 2 SnowGoburimons and boss. Capture toyagumon, go to disk domain, RunAway from every fight except 2 fights with Gob/Snowgob, then only bosses. So here in 4 usual fights you will get enough exp to have Agumon lvl 7 and SnowAgumon lvl 6 for MetalGreymon Fight

2. 3 Gazi route: In SCSI domain you can fight any 2 of (Biyomon, Betamon, SnowGonurimon). Capture toyagumon, go to disk domain, capture Gazimon with Toy Plane (1st Gazi). Then fight only 2 Gazi/Giza and bosses. Here you will have Agumon lvl 7, Snowagumon lvl 6, Gazimon lvl 5 for MetalGreymon Fight.

So the first route is only 4 fights, but you need them to be exactly "4 Gob". You save time here not picking up Toy Plane and capturing additional digimon. In the second route you have 3 digimons, so it means faster and safer fights and chance to paralyze.

I ran both of this routes depends on the start of the SCSI domain. If i got 2 Gobs at SCSI - I tried 4 Gob strat, if not, I tried 3 Gazi strat. But unfotunately my best time was 7 seconds behind the WR. So I thought 3 digi strat is rly great, but which else digimon can I use instead of Gazi. It is virus, so not much DMG to MetalGreymon, can die from oneshot and small paralysis chance and I wanted to try other digimons. I thought of Gotsumon as 3rd digimon first (data type and most powerful rookie attack), but I was not sure about his low lvl and probably oneshot from MG. So I thought more and solution came naturally - ToyAgumon. 38 hp at first lvl - HUGE, also descent attack power. The only problem is it is not so common and in some runs I had to go to 3rd floor to capture him and we need 2 of them. The same happened in my test runs, I captured 2 ToyAgumons and I thought, hey, I'm already in 3rd floor and portal to 4th is in the room, so why shouldn't I try to go and kill Kokatorimon with 2 Agumons. And it worked! In first few runs with this strat I got bad rng at the domains generation, but in 3rd run I finished it 2 mins lower than previous WR! And it is plenty room for improvement. It was also not very good RNG.

Can anyone share please ePSXe settings for this game.

I want to do some runs here, but apparantely I have very long black screen(loading) time (location change or battle start). I checked videos on MetalGreymon category, first image appears after ~5s of loading after pressing "New Game" button, at my settings it appears in ~8s.

So I am behind about 10s even before entering BOOT domain.
