Game in series: The Lost Legacy Category Name: Glitchless Rules and category description: Standard IGT rules with no Glitches
Creating the forum here to post the runs. All others please add your runs to show interest.
I would also suggest that this should be a part of the main game leaderboards because UC1-3 glitchless is on the main games.
Here are some other Glitchless runs I found on the Any% leaderboard:
1:33:30 by Erims:
1:37:04 by Osskari
1:37:20 by Lumoshroom
1:38:36 by Pdub
Let me know if there are any more that are relevant to this category and I can add them.
I propose the addition of chapter leaderboards for UC4 and UCLL. You can reset the IGT and start any chapter so if that is one of the rules then we don't have to deal with calculating the IGT. I think it could encourage finding new strats and bring some activity back to those games.
There is now a category: https://www.speedrun.com/ucce/full_game#Crushing_Glitchless
Would they all be separate categories, or do you have to get Marco Polo in each game and total time? And if combined, would UC4 and UCLL count?
Maybe do separate because UC4 and UCLL use IGT?
The rules would be to reset the in game timer and play from Chapter 17 to the end credits.
Guide for how to reset IGT: ()
- Use Chapter Select to start any chapter.
- Choose to start without saving.
- Quit to Main Menu. (now you have all chapters unlocked but no save file in place.)
- Use Encounter Select to start any encounter.
- Quit to main menu ASAP. (Encounter Select resets the IGT and when you quit there is no save file, therefore the IGT stays at 0:00.)
Now you can start from any chapter or encounter with the IGT at 0:00.
This also means that categories like Scotland (Ch 8&9) or Libertalia (Ch 12-15) are possible. Really any stretch of the game can be run separately.
Here is a test run done in 1:12:24 IGT and 1:20:40 real time:
Awesome! Thanks. I deleted my old runs because they were showing up on the Any% once my good one was moved. FYI: the plan is to do The Lost Legacy runs on crushing as well, but I'll bring it up on that page when the time comes.
There is a way to reset IGT, and keep all your chapters. It can be used to track IGT in Chapter Select without math.
- Load or start the game with a complete save file.
- Start something from Chapter Select (not continue).
- Choose not to save.
- When the game loads, quit to Main Menu.
- Start something from Encounter Select.
- As it finishes loading, pause immediately.
- Quit to Main Menu.
At this point you can start any chapter from Chapter Select and run it with the IGT. If you do not create a save file, then you can reset the timer using Encounter Select when you start a new run. If you do create a save file, you'll have to perform all the steps again to reset the timer.
Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to create a save file with a 0:00 IGT to start with. You'll have to perform all the steps again when you start the game fresh. It only took me about 2 minutes of setup to be able to start running chapters.
If not used for a chapter leaderboard, it is at least helpful for practicing a chapter.
Thanks for the reply! Do you know if they patched any of the glitches in the "Guides" sections. It says "Update Play on Disc 1.00, they patched most stuff. " but I'm not sure what that means. I'm new to speedrunning.
