We can use spells in SL1 by using the spell swap glitch. You have two spell slots in SL1. In slot 1, put a spell you can normally use (fire ball, combustion, etc) In slot 2, put any spell you want to use even if you don't have the stats.

If you're using a controller : press L1+dpad-up at the same time then R1 the next frame.

If you're using a keyboard, you should remap some inputs to make this more consistent shit + O for switch spell shift + P for right weapon action CTRL + O for left weapon action

Hold CTRL + Shift then press O+P This method seems consistent

Don't put an autosplit at the end (it doesn't seem to be very consistent). According to the rules, you can't have your final split before the credits. During the credits, the timer stops. You can then take your time to split manually during the credits.

What do you mean by "not working" ? If by that, you mean you don't have the "BKH pop up message", that's normal. The weapon will still appear in your inventory after the black knight is dead. You should check.

You don't need to install something at all. Just run the program along with DSR and the job will be done. More precisely, after killing the black knight, if the weapon doesn't drop naturally (no "black knight halberd" message on screen), the BKH will still appear in your inventory. Also, you won't get banned on steam. Just make your sure the game is offline (anyway, for a valid run, the game has to be offline). Steam doesn't to be offline. Hello. For any%, It is possible to skip those bosses to access firelink altar but in this case you need Kaathe, and in this case, you need to beat the 4 kings, and therefore Sif. But it's slower than beating Gargoyles and Queelag and ring both bells. You can't access the kiln without Kaathe or Fampt being awaken.
