If you want to get into speedrunning Mario Odyssey, you can start by doing the shorter speedruns first. These can be found on the category extensions leaderboard. I'd recommend starting with Festival%, where you only have to make it to metro kingdom, and complete the festival. If not, you can jump straight into doing runs of the full game. I'd recommend watching SmallAnt's tutorials for a starter route. He also has a video or two on movement.
Just remember that you won't be the best right away, and that it will take some practice. You should get a personal best time, and then try to improve your own time, rather than comparing your time to the fastest times. Have fun, and I wish you luck on your speedrun journey!

Hey, just realized the mushroom hills time you got in this run beats the IL record. If you'd like to resubmit this run to ILs, it would be record
And going through the motorcycle part is a pretty large portion of the run, and it just gets skipped over completely.
I guess what I meant was exploits. If you were to play the game as intended, such as actually collecting the ancient runes, and just not bringing items through a cutscene that regularly takes them from you. It’s pretty much a standard with all other maps that there’s a split for glitchless and glitched / exploits and exploitless. Besides this game only has one category right now, maybe it will be bring people back to the game.

Hey, just got into running this game. Could a glitchless and glitched split be added? I was just doing runs on my own and got an 8m 39s time without any glitches. I think the routes would be very different, and could use the split. Especially since this game only has the one category.
Also, if you'd rather not go through all the runs, you could add me as a mod and I could go through them to make the split. ;)
