You are pretty far of the course at 3:00 and you probably missed an invisible checkpoint.
The only difference is that the game locks the framerate for you instead of you doing it yourself with a 3rd party program... but you still kinda need a 3rd party tool to "modify" your HW.
But I suppose this could fall into the same argument as overclocking your HW, which is why I said I would allow it. I remember when people tried to overclock their mouse to 1000Hz to get a smoother movement and nobody complained :) Besides, who knows what tools and gadgets we will have in our disposal in future that will make speedrunning faster/easier.
Usually monitors doesn't support such low frequencies, so I seriously have doubts the tool will override that. Furthermore, this is not that much different from locking your framerate using a 3rd party tool - it's just using a different way to achieve the same thing.
I say that if the custom resolution tool allows any monitor to go as low as 25hz, we could allow this. If not, it's v-sync off. Or maybe create a separate category for low-fps runs using Fraps, Dxtory etc.
The timebug has been fixed thanks to Grim!!!
You can find it in Resources section. Please consider using it for IL records, for yours and mods sake ;)
TT glitch is probably not worth the timeloss if you can drive well and avoid AI cars.
Usually bonus cars are considered as NG+ category for Tournament modes, but you can use them freely for ILs. If you can drive with them in Tournaments, then we need to create separate categories.
So you can't write it directly IN the game like for example in Quake 3? If you have to "change" the gamefiles, then I would recommend not to use it, although this decision is purely on this community. I only ever ran the first level, many years ago. On the other hand, many speedrunning communities allow editing ini files and other configuration files.
Depends on how this command is executed imo. If Turok 2 has console (I don't remember) and you can enter this command there and it works without enabling cheats or so, I don't see any problem with it, but if you have to edit some file, I would ban it.
You could even create separate All cups NG and NG+ categories.
If it saves time, it's a free WR unless it's super difficult to pull off in a full-game run like the bug jump (BJ) in Tomb Raider: Anniversary.
Ah, I see. Honestly, it might be a good idea to rename some of the names to their actual names, like C64 -> Commodore 64, Genesis -> Sega Genesis, 3DO -> Panasonic 3DO. It's a bit confusing imo.
Just watched the run by CovertMuffin on AGDQ and I was wondering why is 125fps the maximum allowed framerate. Have you guys tried something like 333fps which might give you more distance? (at least it does in Quake 3)
Also, not trying to be a dick, but I just found it curious - if console commands are not allowed, why do you allow com_maxfps command?

Hi,
I think it would be better to ask on our discord server. Forums are kinda 2000-ish if you know what I mean :)
Personally, I'm not a fan of source-ports that modify the game in some way, but since this is just loading screens we're talking about, I'm fine with it even though I don't run this game... yet. The freezing for a couple seconds sounds like a compatibility issue with modern OS anyway.
Assuming that no pickups is actually faster, I don't see why a separate category would be needed. It's like running a game on a slightly slower difficulty, which is completely your choice.
Maybe as a subcategory.
@Schorck: Be careful about cracked versions as sometimes this can happen, and we only allow officially released versions. If you're not unsure of something, you can always ask here or on our discord channel (link is in another thread on this forum).
Also, lot of new runners of The Run make a mistake about not recognizing New Game and New Game+ modes. New Game mode means you start from level 1 profile (fresh profile), while New Game+ starts with anything previously unlocked, including your profile level or cars from Challenges (or anything else).
First off, I think the name "Any%" is kinda wrong, I will change it to "All cups". Second, it seems like the PS version only has 4 cups, whereas PC has 6, therefore I will add PC/PS subcategory, unless the gameplay and tracks are totally different, which they don't seem to be from what I can see in your run. Third, there is no discord channel for TD, but you can join our NFS channel at https://discord.gg/0q21vTfIVQ7xibxy and we can talk about it. I'm interested in this game as I played it as a kid, although I don't plan to run it in near future, or at least not seriously. Fourth, I've never heard about the TT glitch and it looks kinda confusing. Can you explain it pls?
-Vsync: Does the movement speed change depending on how high your framerate is or is it constant? If it's constant for everyone, I would allow it. -Grappling hook assisted pick ups: Ban
