Hello,
Would it be possible to get a 2P category added for the Arcade version?
Going to be doing a run with my coop partner.
Thank you
Hello
Would it be possible to get a 3P Coop category? Would like to play this game with my 2 friends.
Thank you.
Hello all,
This ROM comes configured with Dual 2P screen by default, and doesnt seem to be changable by easy DIP Switch.
However, it is possible to disable this and have only 1P screen appear.
In MAME, hit Tab, go to Video Options. Then select Screen #1 and change to Screen 0 Standard (4:3) setting.
This will get rid of the second screen. You can add it back by changing to Dual-Cabinet display again if you want to play 2P or something.
Hello all,
This game supports 4 players, and Id like to request a 4P category if possible. About to force my arcade group over the hot coals.
Thank you!
Hello all
I am about to force my arcade playing group over this game, both in 3P and 4P mode. Any chance categories could be created for them?
Thank you.
During my 2P coop run we had a moment where we threw the boss on the ground and then did double thunder on top of him to absolutely steamroll him.
Moment located at:
Thinking this might be usable against a few bosses that hit the ground for a period of time. Likely not on Fungus or Diablo, but maybe some of the others. Double thunder is also very good against the swinging miniboss before Moai.
Please fix the 2P and 3P categories to allow for actually submitting 2 and 3 player names.
Right now everything is 1 player basically.
Thank you.
Hello all
Was working on running all of the existing Arcade games and wanted to bring this game up.
Do people think that a new game Ikari Warriors (Arcade) should be requested for these runs? Or a new category in this game?
Previously I have requested a full new game for Guerilla War and Bloody Wolf (also both NES games with Arcade versions)
But wanted to consult the community first.
Thanks all!
Hello,
Was wondering if Arcade categories could be added, or if I should request a new game with the Arcade version?
Gameplay seems very different (similar design in principle)
Did a 2P run with my friend here:

Me and my arcade partner are going to run this.

Hello,
Please fix the 2P and 3P subcategories to allow for 2 and 3 player submissions.
Right now can only submit 1 player.
Have runs I would like to submit.
Thank you.

This game supports 3 players, and my arcade team has run it.
Would it be possible to get a 3P COOP category so I can submit?
Thank you. Run is at
Hello,
Me and my coop arcade partner are running this 2P.
Can we get a 2P category added so we can submit them?
Thank you.
Hello,
Can we add a 2P category for this game? I am going to run it with my arcade running partner.
Thank you!
Will be posting the results of speed testing I do on various approaches here. Feel free to dispute with evidence, the faster the better!
Test 1: Faster to repair red couplers or replace?
-
Test: P2 Put new coupler next to red linked coupler. P1 Put welding robot next to other red coupler. On start, P2 disconnects red coupler, drops wrench, connects hoses to new coupler, picks up wrench, and secures hoses to new coupler. P1 uses robot to Repair red coupler.
-
Result: Robot repair easily won, and thats before we even factored in the time of needing to run the coupler over.
-
Conclusion: Better to repair red couplers than to try and replace them in any run.
Test 2: Faster to drive robots to middle of field or stay close?
-
Test: P1 spawns arm robot, walks it sufficient distance from initial spawn, deploys it. Then repeats with weld robot. P2 runs to moon rover, gets in, drives to spawn, spawns arm robot, loads onto cart, spawns weld robot, loads onto cart, boards rover, drives to middle of field, removes robots, deploys robots.
-
Result: Spawn walking robots wins. Was able to easily walk over and deploy two robots that had range to reach/repair any component well before rover was able to get into place.
-
Conclusion: On any 1P map atleast spawning robots and walking them to a sufficient range they can do all jobs is better than using the rover. This may not be the case if you have extra people to load the rover to cut down on exit/entry time in higher player counts.
Can we have a category for 2 player? Perhaps the rules could be each level you add your two times together and then final time is all levels added together?

Download the full iso, not the russian rip. Install the patches, BUT NOT THE NO-CD, if you already patched the original exe with no-cd, uninstall and reinstall. Mount the .ISO into windows virtual drive, or install daemon tools and use virtual drive created by daemon tools, no-cd is useless, does not work, you need the ISO file in virtual drive in order to play. (In Windows 10 (as with Windows 8. x), you can simply double-click an ISO file to mount it as a virtual DVD drive. That virtual drive shows up in File Explorer with its own drive letter, and it acts just like a DVD.)
For widescreen support: Download dgVoodoo2 http://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2/
Extract it somewhere
Open the MS\x86 folder and copy D3D8.dll, D3DImm.dll and DDraw.dll files to the starship trooper install dir
Start the game using <path-to-game>\setup.exe.
Press Configure and select dgVoodoo DirectX Wrapper as your driver.
Then press Play to launch the game.
In the game options menu select a resolution that is smaller than the one set in dgVoodoo, but has the same aspect ratio. This will make the in-game interface larger; the smaller the resolution set in the options menu, the bigger will the in-game interface be rendered on screen.
