My thoughts, A steam deck is just a tiny computer with limited RAM and GPU. You would likely have issues as most console players do with time. I would personally say it should be categorized as console since there are limited resources to run the game. Maybe a new category entirely?

I use OBS and if I'm running I usually stream on Twitch just for accuracy. All of my (horrible) runs are streamed live or I won't submit them. lol

Thanks. Watching Kosmic is how I became interested. I don't ever expect to beat Kosmic's record.. but maybe some day I will be in the sub5 min area. :)

Hello everyone. I am Jake. I thought it would be 'fun' to try and speedrun Super Mario Bros. 1 so I gave it a few tries. Currently sitting at around 10:18.. but looking to get into the sub 5 minute area. It's a lot more difficult than I thought it was going to be.. but it's still a lot of fun.
