Since almost all of the positives have been covered I'll just add a couple of things on that I believe would benefit us all next year.
Scheduling
- As part of the scheduling team, there were many instances of people @ ing the scheduling PC directly rather than the team itself. This is very inefficient as the PC is not always occupied, but if you @ the crew, we will be able to see it on our phones and deal with whatever needs to be done.
Hosting
- Might be a small thing, but I feel like most people saying "shoutouts to our sponsor X or Y" left a bad taste in my mouth. To me this seems very informal and as a partner I would much prefer getting "we'd like to thank our partners over at X or Y" rather than this 'shoutout'.
- I can't think of a logical reason why hosts should have to deal with incoming donations before they reach the donation reader. I am fully aware that the idea was for hosts to act as a moderation team of sorts while the actual moderators were asleep. But why have this at all? As a donation reader you should be able to use your initiative and determine whether something is ok to read or not. May sound harsh but if you do not possess this skill then I don't believe you should be reading donations at all, it's not exactly hard to figure out things like "Mike Hunt" and "My Knee Grows". The latter even got read out anyway during GTA3 so the system clearly needs more work.
- Maral and Ladaur need some stress taken away from them, while they do a fantastic job at the current scale of the event the burden appears to be too much. Multiple instances of the hosting organisers rushing around constantly dealing with issue after issue because nobody else could/would until 3am and it isn't fair on them.
- I agree with Charlie regarding the hosting station, the couch is much better than the chairs. If you don't want a couch then the ESAWinter setup would be a fine substitution. The TV screen placement inconvenienced me as someone with low vision, but I won't dwell on that as I am a very small minority. What I would like is somewhere to put a laptop like last year so I can read from that instead. This was especially bad for me when I was put on the spot to read information about save the children, I couldn't read the screen and there was no documents about it so I basically had to say no and look like a fool.
- I already offered this solution during the event but I will relay it again as it wasn't utilised. Make a spreadsheet for the sponsors and have the hosts mark when they have plugged them and when, instead of each host having to ask the previous ones what they did/didn't plug.
Badges
- This was promised last year and never delivered so I will relay this again, give badges for volunteers. This year I put over 20 hours of my own time into making this event the best it could be during the week, and I still had to walk around with an attendee badge covered in stickers that made it look forged. Not only this but those stickers weren't given out until several days in, so if someone was looking for say a member of the scheduling crew at the event they would never get anywhere because there was no way to tell us from a normal attendee.
Nick gave you a different idea to the one Anti mentioned, I doubt you already renamed the entire folder before Nick said anything
You described the rampage setup for Pizza Boy, not The Party?
@LESHENKA the thread you linked has no information on what they're asking, they are two entirely different setups
My solution is to just open the game exe inside the game directory. But this doesn't solve the issue of skipping cutscenes, I don't think it should be allowed if you cannot do it without ini modification.
The problem with that is the steam config utility just crashes for most people, not sure about GOG though
I posted this in the discord but I will respost here to hear anyone's thoughts on the forums too.
EnglishBen - Today at 16:06 ok so after having a look, i believe the best way to do this is to only allow ini modification of something that can modified in-game with 2 exceptions those being disabling intro cutscenes, and windowed mode anything else is forbidden, thoughts?

Hello everyone
As you may have seen, the old moderators of this game either deleted their accounts or have been inactive for several months. For this reason I have taken ownership of the leaderboard for now.
The old rules put in place by the previous mod team were absolutely absurd, and pretty much killed the leaderboard dead. I have revised them to make them much more reasonable. If you previously submitted a run that was taken down due a previous ruleset, please re-submit and I will deal with it accordingly. Treat this as a clean slate for the game.
If you are submitting a run, please re-read the new rules to review the differences and also let me know if you have any feedback. Also bear in mind the separation between PC and Console, this is because of the difference in game versions between platforms.
The new run that's just been approved doesn't have an external timer, which is the entire reason the lb got wiped in the first place. Can the mods make up their minds? You allow half and deny the other whether they follow the rules or not, pretty embarrassing at this point.
@dressupgeekout unfortunately your run will be declined, the same as every other run that has been done in years. This is because the mods of this have no idea how to run the leaderboard and retroactively changed the rules to force external timers therefore making all the runs invalid.
This is a steam save but it clearly isn't compatible with your version. so either you've installed something such as a crack to your steam version, or you have a different version to the one you say you have
Sorry for the delayed response, can you upload the save that is causing you issues somewhere? Is every save causing you trouble or just one specifically?
Saves aren't compatible between versions. If you're playing international you will need an international save.
This is an error where the international exe is reading from a japanese set file. If you're using both international and japanese at the same time, i would advise having a different .set file for each version. Otherwise you can delete your japanese set for now, but that isn't a great solution.
This could be a number of things, and it all depends on the actual crash address. If you post the crash address it will make troubleshooting much easier. It will look something like this
Usually application load errors are fixed for me by reinstalling the game. As for having an "optimal setup" the japanese version of the game is the most optimal for speedruns. There is a converter that will automatically change your steam version over to the JP version here - https://www.speedrun.com/tools/vc_jp_converter_ub42v.zip
