Turns out if you let go of a pebble, you're briefly immune to damage from gas jets. Confirmed to work with all characters, though Dory has the strictest timing.
The schedule has been released for the Australian Speedrun Marathon 2025, a week-long charity event hosted in Adelaide, South Australia to raise money for Game On Cancer.
Finding Nemo 100% has been accepted into the event, and I get to perform it!
The run will air on Wednesday the 16th of July at 6:45am ACST. There will also be a bid war to determine which character closes out FNR Bonus during the run.
More details about the event can be found here: https://www.ausspeedruns.com/ASM2025
I thought it only fitting that 1st get marked with the Race Bonus icon, with 2nd and 3rd using Gold and Silver Starfish. I also made a custom Bronze Starfish, in case a consistent style was desired.
I've just updated the Slide Puzzle Guide with a faster solution that saves two moves. This has allowed me to get a 5:21 with Invincibility Cheat.
The better question is whether you can go OOB while carrying pebbles, because all the pebbles are on the right side of the giant clam and all the platforms are on the left.
Yo that's awesome! Could it have any use in 100% though?
A casual Any% run typically takes around two to three hours
I feel like 100% needs to be split into two categories, or at least add a Route option to future submissions.
"100%" starts from a new save file, and requires you to both collect all 60 Starfish and finish Fishing Net Rescue.
"All Starfish" may start from any existing save file that has 0/60 Starfish, and only the Starfish themselves are required. Levels may be played in any order (though chronological would be fastest), and it is not necessary to finish any specific level during the run.
All Starfish would save time in all the same areas as the Any% NG+ route, with the added benefit of Starfish being saved upon quitting the level. This could be used to skip the Luxo Ball section in Training With Gill, for example.
The NSO version has been released, and the MP1 leaderboards have already added it. I think it's time we added it for MP2 as well.
To the admins, or whomever it may concern:
I'd like to request the addition of a new category, called "100% NG+". The rules are identical to 100% except for the following:
The run starts from a save file that has access to The Lab, but no Gems or Keys (Password: Circle, Square, Circle, Square, Square, X, Square, X).
Timing begins either when the save file is loaded, or when you press X to confirm after inputting the password.
Can we make a category for viewing all unique death/failure animations? I think it would be interesting.
Note: "unique animations" does not include different backgrounds
From experience, the Star does count if you quit after collecting it. However, this isn't useful in 100% outside of backtracking, since you need to finish every level anyway, and I'm pretty sure finishing FNR is required.
I'm about to make the 100% leaderboard less empty, but I need some clarification on timing. Assuming I do Fishing Net Bonus last, should the clock stop when the last Pebble drops, or when the save prompt appears on the Level Select?
