So I'm an insane man with an insane interest in this game, so I used a Japanese account on my switch to get the switch port, and I can confirm that the 3 controller glitch does work on that port. Don't know if this helps anyone, but I thought I'd let you all know. Only new features the switch port adds is a rewind button and a run button.
