FreePaint% is an idea I came up with for people who want to speedrun DeBlob without having to worry about anything but their movement and timing. FreePaint% would be achieved by completing every level in the game during Free Paint mode as quickly as possible. The timer starts upon selecting the given button on the loading screen for each level and ends upon reaching the end pool of Ministry Of Ink(you can’t play Lake Raydia in Free Paint mode). I love the movement options in this game, and I feel that this category is something that should exist for people like me who love planning routes, wall jumping and running, and getting to end as fast as possible with no strings attached. This would also give a viable use to the gate skips that can be found in various levels of the game. Below are my IL times for the first runs of each DeBlob level and the link to the video for my first full FreePaint% run time for the whole game. I am definitely not the best at this game, so all of these runs could definitely be improved in the near future. I feel that the possibilities for this category are very expansive and that new routes and skips can be found fairly easily if this category is further pursued. NOTE: All of these runs were completed on the recently released Nintendo Switch port for the game. My name is Dimitrix, and I'm a rookie speedrunner who really likes this game and is talking with JussaPeak on speedrunning it over the summer. I'm looking to improve and to make sure that this game isn't dead! I can't wait :D
Probably, but I still found it really cool
I'm gonna be keeping an eye out for this one in other places other than here. It could be used to clip into walls if done in the right place, but we will have to see.
This looks hilarious, so I thought you guys would enjoy ????
This is (once again) not viable for speedrunning to my knowledge, but I have not seen it covered anywhere else. Is this new?
@CreepyGar can I get a mention in the discord?
I don't think so because A. It occurs because you are constantly going on and off a slope B. In the video's case, you can't escape the grass
@CreepyGar I now realize this can be done on any of the bushes in the area, but only the no-recoil spin part. I could not recreate the softlock again.
I FOUND SOMETHING! It's nothing major, but I soft locked the game while looking for out of bounds collision in Cosmic Cove Galaxy. It also, for some reason, allows you to spin infinitely with no recoil if you hold the control stick in a certain direction. How do I send you a video?
Yeah, right now I'm doing something completely unviable for speedrunning. I might have found a way to skip the first "big boo" trigger in Haunty Halls 2nd Star. Not sure if it will work, but I have time to kill @CreepyGar
I'm glitch hunting in SMG2; is there anything specific I should look for or be aware of?
