@JustAComicBookNerd Because becoming series mod doesn't let you become mod on those games, if he is inactive on the other boards and they have no other mod on them that are active then you can request here to become mod of those on here. Series mod itself otherwise has no barring and we are trying to only give it when its necessary, for this series case it isn't, nearly all the games are already added and it doesn't appear that they are making these games any longer but if this ever changes we wouldn't mind changing our minds.

Note: One of the games in the series were added with no runs on the board, we also do not approve of series mods adding games for the sake of it because it snipes others out of requesting the game who may be active and provide runs for it. Not everyone is aware they can request moderator status for a game.

So in short, I've taken a look I have no issue if you want to become mod on these games but we are still going to ask you to provide a run for said games in question so we aren't just freely giving out moderator status on these games. If you have a run please provide that here and I'll add you to these games but series mod as I mentioned is out of the question and I have no issue at least removing the current series mod.

@JustAComicBookNerd We do not believe this is warranted, it seems that the series is complete (or very close from my understanding) and there doesn't appear to be many games left. There would be no reason to appoint a new series mod.

@Gave2haze I see, so we should add a medal of honor or a gravestone icon for them. Gotcha.

The previous moderators were proven to be inactive as per speedrun.com policy and have been removed. At this time, I am currently maintaining this leaderboard as I currently assist Super Mario Maker 2 however I was not a fan of how the leaderboard was entirely being maintained to a large degree.

Before the moderator removal there were numerous runs that were in a world record position that did not include video proof or any proof whatsoever, it seemed as though the previous moderators didn't keep true to their rules provided and simply verified anything. Which, this also brings me to the attention of more than 70% of the entire leaderboard were runs that included not only no video proof for world record but an extreme lack of any proof on ANY category/game mode type that also includes a lack of picture proof (via screenshot/photograph proof) for personal best times. It is impossible to verify your time when there is zero way to do so aside of word-of-mouth which is heavily frown down upon and an old staple that has long since been removed across many game communities, it should not be any different here.

As such all runs that did not include video or image/photograph have been manually removed from all categories. Again there is no way to verify your time with nothing provided, and as far as we know anyone could of simply lied about their submitted time.

Other changes; in the full-game leaderboard the "New 3DS / 3DS" subcategories have been removed and merged to "New 3DS". The reason for this change is simply due to the leaderboard already tracking both platforms via a fliter, and while some may not like it, it is always recommended to play on the fastest hardware for any given game unless stated otherwise. Some runs were also already mixed into both subcategories thus making it more pointless, all runs have been moved and your fastest time will be listed (and all old runs under your account are merged along behind it). The "Level Leaderboard" has a new jolted in rule about providing video/images when submitting your time.

The discord invite has been manually changed to the official Super Mario Maker series discord which is meant for all games within the series.

There may be more changes coming that need to still be modified and changed.

Edit: The 100 Mario Challenge categories will likely get merged as well this way all the difficulty modes become subcategories and it is much simpler and easier to navigate through the leaderboard.

Edit 2: The 100 Mario Challenge is now the main category as it has the most runs overall and what seems to be that most people tend to run for the game thus making the leaderboard appear much larger. The difficulty modes are now subcategories for it and all runs should be properly moved towards them.

Edit 3: "World ILs" have been removed for being overly redundant along with a couple of other minor issues with it, regular ILs for all levels in the main game are still in the IL board however. We've also adjusted the rules just a tad further to make things a bit more clear and easier to read.

I also made it so "Super Mario Challenge" has any% and 100% percent subcategories, which while I know its a tad weird from the norm since this is the main game category it has only one run at this time and it doesn't appear to be something most people prefer to run.

At this moment, I believe I have done everything I can there may still be a few runs I skipped over while doing all of this but I hope the changes are welcoming.

@Kromer Perhaps at a later time we can consider removing the series mod and replacing, but as for the game listed I have no issues but it doesn't appear you have any runs pending for the game. Would you happen to have a run of this game?

If you are the mod for all of these games then it's fine, but if there are other mods on these boards seek their approval as well. These are a bit flaky to have taken care of because they are considered massive leaderboards and we absolutely need to have everyone on board with this concept.

@Speedrunner24 Both mods seem to be inactive (21 day mark) and looking at the social media links they seem to also showcase they aren't around. I currently moderate the Super Mario Maker 2 board so I will personally offer assistance with this for the time being but keep in mind I am not entirely familiar with the 3DS version of the game and will need some time to be able to properly verify runs.

@Gerbungis According to the game queue over there, there hasn't been a single run submitted since April and only recently has there been any pending for a few days (which the moderator seems to also been gone a few days) but this isn't grounds for removal. I also recommending trying to reach out to them somehow and making another thread over there regarding the cheated run, its possible they just let it slip through.

@MAISQUELHOMME Seems fine, but before I add you to the game I recommend adding at least another contact method under your account.

@Spec3x Looks like the moderator cleared out the runs and straighten up, I agree with you that we have a zero tolerance policy for people submitting not only fake runs but also allowing such runs onto the site. Let us know if this comes up again.

Depends on the games in question, let's say for example "Mario Party" if you wanted to do a muti-game leaderboard (for all of the Mario Party games in this example) you'd need to get the other moderators within the series to be onboard with the idea. If so, then we just mark the board as a muti-game for the game type.

@II3URNZ Seems to check out, I added you to the board as moderator in their place.

Be warned, if in the future you will want to mass move runs again you will have to do it yourself manually even if it is beyond 1-20k+ runs. It is currently impossible to have site staff move runs, subcategories are an absolute no go to attempt to move.

I'm surprised this went on as long as it did however this is a misuse of moderation powers, the "Meme%" category has nothing to do with the game at all and as such I'm going to remove the "runs" and category from the game.

@goadiroth No and yes, if people resubmit then we will usually ignore it for awhile if it wasn't rejected and focus more on the other requests. However, that doesn't mean we may look at it anyway but it doesn't increase your chances of it getting rejected/approved sooner (its more annoying if anything). Everyone on staff does things differently from one another while keeping the same mindset while going through the queue, some of us might start in the middle, some of us hop around, if there's a game were unsure about then coming back to it later is more ideal to have a clearer mindset instead of being pressured and stressed. That last one may seem a tad inconvenient, but its a lot better than holding up everyone else if there was a line.

Consider this, if we did just do everything in a line we would likely hold up the entire queue by days to weeks and we'd have to extend the time it may take from 2-3 weeks to likely about a month to make up the time difference. There's a lot of game requests that get submitted often, so there's no real easy way to make the process any simpler without it costing quality control and time.

So, an indicator just wouldn't have any benefit.

@goadiroth There is no "line"

Game requests are simply handled by people on staff in their free time, some games take longer then others, some have issues, sometimes when we aren't sure we might come back to that particular game a bit later and among many other reasons. Game requests have always been a rough thing to comb through, an indicator of when your "turn" is would do you literally no good since when we do accept or reject the game, the site gives you a notification already.

You simply have to be patient, it's already listed that in around 2-3 weeks if it still hasn't been approved nor rejected that you might want to see what happened by contacting staff.
