I would have to say no, as then it's not single segment. It's unfortunate, but we have to be fair to everyone. But let's wait and see what others think.

Yup, I missed this during verification. I looked for specific things/consistencies to help dwindle the backlog (otherwise people will keep complaining about waits). Some things like this are going to slip through the cracks. Thanks for reporting it :)

For the autosplitter? You can name them whatever you want. Make a split for every split you have checked in the settings, ideally in the same order.

We have a huge backlog. And yeah I do some things out of order but I usually try to work from the bottom up (date submitted). The autosplitter has eaten a lot of my time so I haven't been able to approve as many runs as I'd like, I'll be the first to admit.

There's just a TON of runs to verify; I'm surprised (and thrilled) it's so active.

The only exception is I'll often prioritize runners I know have submitted correctly in the past. Then I just need to look for key areas/watch a few minutes rather than spend a lot of time on a runner that's not submitted before or that I haven't seen before. For those people, they eat up more time.

Nobody is withholding runs because they don't like someone. Right now we have 27 runs waiting to be verified alone.

I just released 2.3.7.

This fixes the healing on Jack (or doing anything that'd shift the serum to a different slot) causing a split bug

Hey Plakue! 1.) I'm guessing something was done that changed the inventory slot of the serum. IE, healing or using the last of some item. Anything that changed the slot of the serum/caused it to shift (the item won't shift graphically, but programming wise it will). I wrote a fix so this shouldn't happen. 2.) I'm not sure why this is. It split correctly for me, but I also used fuse 2. I will have to try the setting with fuse 2 unchecked, but I'm not seeing a reason it wouldn't split. However, if it's splitting when you pick it up from the mold monster, I'm guessing you have your checkmarks wrong? Because Fuse 2 won't split unless the checkmark is enabled. 3.) This one is weird, because it split for me when I tested it. However, I did get rid of a conditional check that could potentially cause it to not split, as well as wrote some code to make sure using an item didn't accidentally trigger it. I just tested it. It worked for me.

Please make sure you have 2.3.5 and try them all again :)

Edit: I just realized the healing thing for Jack is still triggering the split. This would also happen for injecting Evie, potentially. So I'm going to take a further look.

The only other suggestion I have is right clicking livesplit and "run as administrator". But I'm sure others have suggested that for sonic adventures. Sorry :/

I used CE while working on the autosplitter to blow through some places, specifically for testing. TBH, it was kinda fun having a Magnum that didn't need to be reloaded Kappa

Check your firewall isn't blocking LiveSplit from calling home and checking the Auto Splitter list? If that doesn't work, you can download the ASL from my github and add it as a scriptable autosplitter in layout. But you won't get the latest updates that way, so I'd try to fix it first. If you can't get it working after checking firewall settings etc:

Do you have a space at the end of "Resident Evil 7"? Like "Resident Evil 7 "? That's the only way I could get it to show no Auto Splitter available. I can ask the LiveSplit Discord for any further ideas.

Edit: Their suggestion was to restart LiveSplit.

With the exception of a couple of retry time saves, some of what you guys are retrying on might not actually be saving you time, they could be making you gain time.

Do NOT go off LiveSplit's time to time your time saves (wow, what a sentence). The timer pauses whenever there's a pause menu (this includes the loading screens), however, for some reason the IGT starts a couple of seconds early while the game is still loading, before you can press F to load the map back up. During this time, LiveSplit still sees the game is paused and keeps the timer paused, but the IGT is actually rolling. The timer also keeps rolling on the death "Retry" screen.

It's not really possible (at least right now) to just directly read the game time because of how RE7 was coded. That's why LiveSplit uses RTA just with load removal/pause screen removal. The variable the autosplitter uses to detect if the game is paused, for some reason returns true, even when the IGT starts a bit early. This is an odd way Capcom coded the game. I tried to find a work around for this, but couldn't find one that was accurate.

If you're going to time if a retry actually saves you time do it this way:

1.) Look at the stats menu and look at the game's time. 2.) Do your retry. Spam F. Because again, the timer starts early and keeps rolling even while the F button graphic prompts you to press it. 3.) As soon as you can, open your stats menu again and look at your game time. See if you're actually saving time.

You might find you are saving time on all of them. If that's the case, great. You might find some of them causes you to GAIN time retrying.

Eventually, I'd like LiveSplit to be able to hook into the game time. As it sits now, it's impossible without a much more complicated addition of a DLL. And even then there's no promise it'd actually stay accurate.

I hope this makes sense, and if I'm causing alarm for no reason; my apologies. I saw Bawk retry during the Jack fight to save time from turning around (approx. 1 second). But if the game starts the timer 3-4 seconds before you can even press F to load the map... You're actually gaining a couple of seconds.

Worth looking into :)

New update you'll receive when opening LiveSplit next.

"Fixed the fuse double split problem once and for all. The previous fix's logic would still cause it to trigger. Added a check in fuse retrievals logic to see if the old slot wasn't holding the fuse AND chek to see if fuse 2 is check marked to split and that it has split first, if so. Tested and working."

Updated version which includes a few bug fixes (that triggered splits on death) has been released. The script will update automatically upon re-launching LiveSplit. You can ensure you have the latest version by editing the settings of the script and seeing "2.3.0".

What version of the game are you running? Steam, Windows Store, .."Unofficial" version?

It ¤could¤ be that different versions use different memory pointers. This was written specifically for the Steam version, but it could very well work for other versions, or .. not.

Does the timer start automatically for you if you compare against game time and start a new game?

Fixed a bug where the fuse splits both triggered at the same time. The script will update for you the next time you launch LiveSplit.

TODO: Fix bug where Chainsaw Duel completion is triggered by dying. I know a couple of potential ways to fix it, but it's late and I have to go to bed.
