This wouldn't be so much of an issue if so many of you didn't have such horrible taste in music, to be honest. /s
But seriously, attempts at splicing have occurred. I was cool with music over it if it didn't cause any muting of the video or make it too hard to hear the game, but it's gotten to the point people aren't being mindful of that.
It's also super easy to play music on your end without it being broadcast to the stream, so people need to stop acting like we made it impossible for them to do runs in a way they personally enjoy doing them.
Fair enough, we're keeping Amiibo's for now. I'm going to go buy them all up now. You can buy them at a 500% increase at CursedToast.com by the end of the month. :) /s
Anything requiring external hardware that doesn't' come with the game should be a sub-category. I don't care if the time difference is 2 seconds or 20 minutes. Nobody should be at a disadvantage because they didn't invest in goofy pieces of plastic in the past that have different rarities and prices... What's wrong with it having it's own sub-category and keeping the main category to just plain vanilla game?
You don't group such drastically different play methods in the same category; it's odd to me that there's people supporting this. Though I do wonder if those people would still be advocating to keep them in the same category if they didn't already have the Amiibo's and didn't have easy access to them.
I just tried a variety ways of purchasing the Japanese version off the windows store. It won't let me use PayPal, and it won't accept my credit card because it's a different region than the store. You need a Japanese credit card or find a store that sells gift codes for the Japanese Windows Store...
I wish I had a copy of the JPN version just so I could poke around. I'm really curious if there's just a flag to censor content or not, or if it's a completely different build. If it were just a flag, it'd be super easy to write a patcher.. It would solve the problem for PC instantly.
Not sure what's up with your snark, but...
"A bit more complicated". Not really. You can't just jump on eBay or Amazon and order a PC version code for the censored edition. You have to break store TOS and go out of your way to get it. Not cool to ask of the masses, honestly, and it's also a sketchy thing to promote as a community. So it's a lot more complicated.
For the console version, yeah, I don't think it's any different than any other region game. It's not like there's region lock or anything, etc. It's kinda shitty to allow it in one category and not the other, but I'd be willing to meet in the middle.
The time could be very accurately timed and added, as well. We have the splitting technology. Just saying.
Okay, then let me reword. Instead of "especially for PC" I'll say "for PC". I'm heavily against asking people to use VPN's etc to buy the damn thing. It's absolutely stupid. It's NOT easy to acquire and the MASSES should NOT be punished for that.
If this becomes a thing we're just going to get to the point where people that did sketchy shit gets the fastest times. And that's not part of the skill or game, imo. If that's what it's going to eventually get to I'll be really disappointed.
I'm personally against allowing the JPN version to be compared to every other version. The masses come before the JPN player base when it comes to being "unfair". If you have to be "unfair" to one group, let it be the smaller group of players. I've always said it and I'll always believe it. The Japanese version simply should have its own category, plain and simple.
For RE7 it's not as simple as going to eBay and buying a specific version of the game (especially for PC). So it's comparing apples and oranges when saying "well the other RE games are just like this!".
I'll be blunt, that's such a stupid reasoning in my opinion. You're basically asking people to do shady things (VPN's and breaking store TOS, which is bullshit) and rebuy the game when honestly 13 seconds should either be added to the JPN time or it should have its own category. Plain and simple.
I know damn well some people are defending this because they're already secured the Japanese version, too. Which is even stupider (and biased).
I think both versions are different enough, honestly. Keep them separate. There's enough noise with all the categories.
Nope. I support every version (that's from Steam) that's come out, past and present. It's not a version number problem. I'm more leaning towards a user error issue as this can't be replicated by anyone I've talked to.
I don't really know what to tell you, unfortunately. If someone else can verify this happens for them I can look into it, but nobody else has reported this and it sounds like an isolated issue. Sorry.
Not sure what to tell you. Nobody else has had this issue and nothing changes just because you're only using the knife. Did you die or anything? Just saying "it doesn't work" doesn't help diagnose any potential problem.
It should split when the chainsaw leaves your inventory when you're cutting the door open
Sounds like you don't have the split enabled in settings....
Is there an end game timer for the DLC? If not, leaderboards would be difficult to manage for it.
Reload livesplit.
So Capcom changed something so that the variable for if you're dead or not triggers true at the end of Mia's tape. I had a condition to prevent the split from splitting if the player was dead (so that if you died during Mia's tape it wouldn't trigger the split). Unfortunately, I have to remove this check so that it continues to split.
However, as a result, if you die during the tape, you're going to trigger the tape end split. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is. 4.0.1 is released that should fix the Mia tape split.
And you let it run into the scene where MIA and Evie talk after the tape is over?
Just let it run at least into the scene where Mia talks to Evie after the tape in the present. It could just be Capcom changed when the inventory swap happens... I can't test right now because my mouse just broke and I can't leave the house for a couple of hours.
