For everybody who does the mackerel run, how long on average does it take to catch the mackerel? I just did two runs, one was 18.25, the other was 37.43. Am I just really unlucky? Or does everyone have a lot of runs like that?
I don't know if anybody actually cares about this, but I noticed a difference between the steam release, and what I assume is the original web version of the game. I do not know if this impacts the time at all, or if there are more differences, but I thought it was interesting to note. In Shadow infiltrator's run of the any% good end, in the basement the encounter is different.
Instead of stopping a ways away from the crooked man, he walks up to it, and there seems to be additional dialogue. If this impacts the time at all, that would potentially mean it should be its own category. Maybe this is the only difference, but I thought it important to point out.
There is an issue on the PC version of Resident evil 5 which causes an enemy during the tanker segment who holds a key card to not drop down and thus softlock the game. There is a mod which fixes this AI issue. If this enemy does not fall, a speedrun obviously is impossible without insane luck. Thus, is it still illegal for a run to use a mod to fix this glitch?
