I know this has been topic has been kinda pushed aside and looked at as not a viable type of run or whatver the reason and thats a full game run with a new character but I really want to make this a thing for my own personal reasons.

Im taking the dive and deleting my 34 titan as I type this what I ask of you all is what information you want collected as I level it and play through the game.

Essentially im going to go slow at first in order to go fast off the top of my head I will be recording xp to level, xp per mission per difficulty, what mission drops what upon completion, what each golden chest drops and what order its in but what else should I record im doing it for my own person science but I might as well include you guys in on it

I tested this each variation roughly 20 times each and took the times that were the fastest

Simply holding boost resulted in incredibly similar times ranging from 8 seconds and 4 frames to 8 seconds and 10 frames

Holding boost (LT) and tapping overdrive resulted in really sporadic times this may be human error but anywhere from 6.5 to 7.5 seconds was seen doing this

Holding RT and Tapping Boost (LT) resulted in the fastest times in my tests resulting in times ranging from rougly 6 seconds and 4 frames to 6 seconds and 20 frames

Regardless of the fact that I pushed the sparrow to explosion in the fastest time it was still roughly a 2 seconds difference.

I plan on also testing trying a LT then RT then Release Repeat method as well to see time differences. Zecora's Video was a good demonstration of this but I wanted to see exact times

Some of you may or may not remember me but I have returned to destiny speedrunning but with me I have brought some friends with interest in speedrunning. Kota who has been here before is returning as well as another friend of mine a newcomer MFK Clickz.

Im glad to be back and hope to bring something new to the table

My inital though reading this would be as follows the first thing caught my eye is this:

"inventory management during the flight sequence before a mission? Is that loading time then added back on?"

Yes, it is very easy to tell if someone did any major changes to their inventory if a grenade is changed it has a different icon if subclass would be changed again obviously to tell between example someone switch to a bladedancer from a gungslinger. same goes with weapons for the most part switching between a LMG and a Rocket launcher would be obvious. So if we were to go with the tedious option of real time and removing loading times adding inventory managment as time would be something that would have to happen at least in my opinion.

I also think we need to not add up individual level times because this like you said discounts time in orbit and the like. Seeing as removing orbit and tower time would then remove another aspect of knowlegde of the game that being menu and map navigation.

Another thing Ive noticed is that every mission has a little bit of vocal I guess story context.

With this, this could be used as a gauge for time and could be used to account for lag. After said audio cue has ended ban any inventory management between that and missionn start and if inventory management occurs during this time it will be added to the total time. This will reduce the amount of tediousness required on video submissions and less would need to be edited out.

Theres a lot of trial and error with this and will take a ton of discussion between what community we currently have to create these rules.
