I have one pc that has a bunch of games on it and I had it connected to an Elgato which outputted to a different pc. In this way the work of recording is not affecting the gaming pc. Too bad the Elgato broke recently. It lasted maybe a year.
About 4h30m for a Dark Wizard speedrun. Although it was segmented so much more time was put into that run.
TBH the more simple systems are more easily emulated. You are probably not going to go wrong as long as it works, but you may want to ask in some Atari ST game forum. What is a popular Atari ST game on speedrun.com? Lol.

@Bregermann Are there a lot of bugs? @OuaisMaisNan For games with no time variation there really should not be any runs for it.
One thing you could try is to display controller input when trying to replicate the bug as well as recording the video. That helped me to be able to replicate a couple glitches.
It is kind of hard to follow what you are saying, but looking at the game's forum the moderator is trying to work with you. You stated your concern now you need to see what he says before accusing people of cheating. Also it has not even been an hour since you stated specifically where the issue is! You need to chill out man and be more patient. In games cutscene skips do exist so it could be that. Sometimes different versions of games change how scene skipping works.
Broken teeth should be looked at by a dentist. Just because it is not hurting now does not mean it is not getting worse. Ahah. "Go to the god damn dentist" indeed.
Avoid opiates unless you are in an EXTREME amount of pain. They can be VERY difficult to get off of. Find it ironic that getting off of pain killers was more painful then being on them. Ask for high dosage Tylenol/Ibuprofen instead, and get off of those as soon as possible. As someone that dealt with severe pain for a year awhile back you need to find out what is going on first then take steps to treat it.
With pain management I would prepare for enjoyable activities. I knew that I would feel better after certain steps were taken and would basically dedicate my "good" hour to my hobbies when doing something demanding. You could try that in the meantime.
For the broken tooth ask someone you know locally if they know a good dentist, otherwise look up reviews of local places. If you see any reviews that raise red flags look elsewhere. Call them and explain your insurance situation, not sure where you live, but where I am if you do not have insurance you might be in for some severe bank account pain too. Usually dentists have reasonable alternative plans for those that do not have insurance though. Then explain that you have an emergency and are in a lot of pain so you can get in quickly.
For the doctor same deal. Although no doctor I know has other insurance plans like dentists. If you are having seizures then it is probably a good idea to go to a doctor and get some medication. Those other facial and stomach pains might be related too. Never know. Before you go write a list of all your questions/concerns in your phone/paper and go down the list when you are with the doctor. When you are feeling bad it is easy to forget a thing or two, and when the doctor wants to know the problems and get out in 2 minutes you have to come prepared.

Noticed on speedruns that runners are apparently able to jump immediately after using the special. Any tips on how to do it? I did it once, but it was a short little hop upward. Any way to do this consistently?
I can give you some other tips.
- Always record when playing even when just messing around. You never know when you might encounter something interesting. There were a couple times when playing that I had to go back to my recording because something unusual happened. And sometimes you get something useful! Ex: One boss I was just running through these flames that reduce your health when I noticed my health had not decreased as expected. Tried the boss and that spot again after looking at the video and voila, a safe point.
- Pay attention. You may notice that something you believed to be true is not. When you think something is random, it may not be. One rpg I played I realized the enemies the boss summoned were predictable based on what guys you had out and how far away they were from the boss.
An online leaderboard sounds nice too. Sounds like you are concerned about hackers. I think it would be FAR MORE worth your time to polish and make the game as best as it can be then to concern yourself with possible hackers No one's bank account is getting harmed.
However just because there is a timer does not really mean it is impervious to lag, hacking, or post recording video manipulation. Nothing a developer can do will stop video manipulation. So RTA will probably be how things go in any case for speedruns, but having a good timer adds entertainment..

I like @6oliath's comment, but that does not really get at what @Diewott1is asking. @Komrade's answer is better, but the problem I have with that is that they start with 0 runs. Games, with several of them having a nice notice on them saying that they are being tracked on a different site like Donkey Kong Country. Also with 0 runs I can really only think of them as placeholders. https://www.speedrun.com/games#sorting=runCount&page=33&direction_sort=off gets you to games with at least 1 run. But again that does not distinguish between active and dead games, since some games have a run or two, but are actively being worked on. Or you can have a game that has historically had a lot of activity but is now pretty dead like https://www.speedrun.com/finaldoom#TNT_Evilution . So as of right now in this thread there is no good answer.
Something like getting a list of games where the last submitted run was over 6 months ago might work.
@Marth.SR Yes visual novels for the most part seem very bland speedruns. When they are mashing as fast as possible through a medium of entertainment that is solely based on story then you remove the main point of enjoyment. There are some exceptions where there are heavy rpg elements in them but those are few and far between. Most visual novels seem to be banal fan service with no actual gameplay. A couple exceptions I can think of are the Neptunia series ( more on the rpg side), the AR Tonelico series, Kamidori Alchemy Meister, and Amayui Castle Meister that I had fun with. Though the last two have r-18 content, but have a good battle system, and I am not aware of any speedruns for those.
@MasterLeoBlue I actually like watching rpg speedruns, but I do indeed skip past the parts that are "stale" like the beginning, the grinding if any, and unskippable plot so I do understand your point.
@Marth.SR Final Fantasy 4's Free Enterprise randomize main site seems to be down ATM so I cannot check it at the source. Does it randomize the characters and remove the plot or something? That sounds cool. Something like that for FF10/6 and CT would be great.
Well you could probably assume that every good segment of a segmented run is a "close call". Some segments can be easier than others but you are probably looking at dozens of attempts per segment for a quality segmented run.
Couldn't you make another run without life upgrades? Sure it is unfortunate but you have probably completed many of these with worse times before this one. However how much of a difference in difficulty is it between consuming a LoTG and not?
