This load remover is obsolete at this point as it's based on video recognition and not in game memories. If you are looking for a current PC version of the load remover you can find so here: https://github.com/Denhonator/KHPCSpeedrunTools/blob/main/LoadRemovers/KH2.asl
Consoles do not have load removers for them and factor in the loads between consoles
Currently the chest is known and it is possible to get out of bounds in that area, but one level too low to reach the chest. That's the current known stuff about that chest though. Would be nifty to be able to grab.
Couldn't really find any information on what settings were being used by potential runners. Decided to open Days on Emulator, going frame by frame to test loading times. The load I used to test (as well as on console) was the Cutscene skip just before starting Ruler of the Skies (no real reason, just where my last save state was). Results of only modifying the "Config > Emulation Settings" options:
- The frame count on DSME is 60fps so the console frame count is adjusted as such.
- The only settings I didn't mess with when doing the timings were the Firmware and BIOS.
I would be alright with a split with the leaderboards between console and emulator as this load alone can save up to 1.2s just by playing on emulator with settings abiding to the current rules. Who knows which other ones load faster, but going off this even with having the worst combination of settings it's still slightly faster.
My run 3:12 Proud run of Days had all emulation settings in this tab off, which could be a main reason why I saved so much time over my previous golds without knowing. That said, I don't know what I would do with Days without emulator just because it's very accessible and incredibly easy to practice with. Which is why I'm more in favor of the pros rather than the cons.
English can go lower than 4:40 with a really good run. I think my SoB was around 4:35 with the English version. Japanese is mostly faster from the puzzles missing that Stovent said. My run was basically all red splits until Tower of Spirits 6, which I was ahead for that. Hasn't gotten much love since then really, so the times look like they are close to each other.
The final floor in Tower of Spirits 6 on English has become optional on Japanese. This floor by itself took 2:30 roughly. The start of Tower of Spirit 5 in Japanese no longer supplies a bomb pod. This does not slow down gameplay, but makes the start of this section a lot harder. Arrows de-load when off screen, making this shot on English impossible to do on Japanese. The room layout in Japanese also is slightly different. The screenshot that Scarlet provided is also another change in Tower of Spirits 5. This one I believe was around 40ish seconds faster. The text technically is faster in some places when you can't instantly scroll the dialogue, but I myself haven't timed it.
Personally, I would be fine with the Cubus Sisters/Ghost Ship RTA because it's what I deem like the midway point before all the big stuff happens in the run. Kind of like Harp in Skyward Sword. I can add it, but it's also going to be under misc. categories like Forest Temple as it's not a full run from start to the credits.
As for how much time does English save of Japanese in terms of Forest Temple RTA, none; maybe frames if you're playing on Japanese. Overall, Japanese saves 6 minutes over English in a rough approximation
WiiU Theoretically saves times over loads. "How much time?"
- Beats me. I don't have a WiiU to test it :C
For the record, I used to have a 40 minute Forest Temple times back when I had a 6 hour run until around the 5 hour mark. Slowly it got chipped away after not failing sections, improving the general movement, as well as from just finding better ways to get through it. It's all down to practice, just doing runs, as well as taking time to find out what you can improve, and what is still improvable in the route.
In the end of the day, we are all just trying to go fast. I believe that you the abilities to beat your time as well. :3
But Timmi is correct in this case. You can always still run the game, but the PH leaderboards (Specifically Any%) are meant to be RTA (Single Segment).
A VOD being split into multiple parts isn't bad. The fact that your timer stopped is the reason why I didn't allow it.
I'll be adding them as Misc. categories. Obviously they might not be as accurate as the other leaderboards because there have been runs of these in the past. They still will follow the same rules as any% and will not allow emulator, or restore points if playing on VC. If you had ideas on smaller RTAs, ping them off me, but please keep in mind I do not want to just add categories randomly. If you want them added, please at least have some proof that you've done the run.
Ideas (so far) that will be added: Stagnox RTA (Forest Temple RTA)
Minigame Leaderboards!
- Whip Race
- Take 'Em All On! (Levels 1, 2, 3)
- Goron Shooting Range (Also have to go find the actual name for this)
- Bow + Arrow Minigame (Have to go back and find the actual name)
