I wanna point out the reason that we have to set this up super far in advance is because I expect a larger TAS block that normal, and I want to give the TASers extra time to prepare.
I know I am not the mod of this game, but I am one of the Wii Series Discord admins, so I figured I'd bring it to the attention of a higher up.
In Wii Play: Motion, we had two mods. Jimmy and Jay. Jimmy has decided not to continue modding the leaderboards, but that leaves Jay as just a regular mod. If a moderator could bump him up to super mod, that would help a lot. I know Jay is busy around this time, so that's why I sent this in. Thanks.
Greetings everyone. This is a message to anyone who might be interested in running at a marathon that submissions are still open for ResortFest: Winter Rush! We have had three marathons so far (ResortFest: International, ResortFest: Fall Fright, and ResortFest: Game On), and have several submissions already for the winter version of the marathon.
Some important information about the marathon:
The marathon takes place online, during February 1st through February 3rd. Like International and Fall Fright, we are raising money for the Flint Water Crisis, through Save Our Children. This will NOT be a 24 hour marathon. We will be basing the hours off of our restreamers, so there will be "Sleep%". From the three of us lined up to restream so far, I expect that runs will be roughly from 6am to midnight CDT. Those times will be more specific and will change to exact times around late December, when we get a confirmed games list with everyone's up to date availability. Hello everyone, we are going to be putting a Wii Sports Golf Tournament! Anyone is allowed to enter, even if you can't stream or record with a capture card. Once we decide on a game, we will start the matches starting December 3rd.
For those who don't know, the goal in either Wii Sports Golf or Wii Sports Resort Golf is to complete the holes as fast as possible.
For those who can stream, all of the matches will be restreamed to the ResortFest International Twitch, and all matches will be highlighted and posted on the RFI Youtube. The finals match will be live during ResortFest: Winter Rush on February 2nd, 2019.
Here is where YOU get to voice your opinion. There is an announcement in the Wii Series Speedrunning Discord that you can react with what game you want to do.

You can vote on both if you can join both tournaments. Voting will end November 25th at midnight. If you vote on a game, we expect you to participate in the tournament. Even if you think you suck, you can't be as bad as Danny on WSR so you'll be fine. This is for fun and to bring the community together. And who knows, maybe you'll come out being the next great Legend.

New Category: All Sports+
As Gamingland has came up with, All Sports+ is coming to WSR. Complete with 18 hole runs of Golf and Frisbee Golf. You'll see this category over on the WSR Category Extension boards.
Score Attack Categories moving to CE
Little controversial here, all of the score attack categories are going to move over to the Category Extension board. This cleans up the main boards per request of some of the uppers. This also gets rid of our fun bug on LiveSplit where the Golf WR is 0.050 seconds. PogChamps.
WSR/OGWS Tournment
We are currently putting in the works a WSR or OGWS tournament. We will be taking a vote soon. It will be double elimination, and the finals match will be during ResortFest: Winter Rush in February. Hello everyone, after two successful marathons in the summer and fall, we are going to be having ResortFest: Game On 2018. This marathon is an onsite/online marathon, taking place Friday, November 30th to Sunday, December 2nd during KCGameCon. Similar to KCGameCon, we will be raising money for Extra Life! There are a lot of amazing runs happening, here is a preview of some of the runs.
For the longest run ever in ResortFest history, piner is doing Sonic Adventure 2 Battle - 180 Emblem.
We have runners SuperViperT302, Lyriati, and Cmdr doing onsite runs at KCGameCon on Friday and Saturday. Viper is doing Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Mario 64, and Pac n' Roll Remix. Lyriati is doing Super Mario Galaxy and Super Monkey Ball 2. Cmdr is doing Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Wii Sports Resort. All of these runs will be onsite starting with Brawl Friday, and the rest of the runs Saturday at KCGameCon.
Sunday is all an online marathon, ending with Tendog doing one of the first (if not the first) marathon run of Deltarune.
There are so many other amazing runs being shown off including Celeste 100%, Pepsiman, Wolfenstein: The New Order, and so much more. After a really cool conversation with the people running KCGameCon, they were really interested in showing off some speedruns during the event, so we are going to have a mini sort of marathon during the event! The marathon debut of Wii Sports Resort: Storm Island, a ROM Hack of Wii Sports Resort made by Jimmy, and ran by our own Gamingland.
Hey You, Pikachu, ran by World Record holder Tendog will close off Thursday.
A huge Mario day on Friday, starting with a Mario Kart DS race between CountGooby and Prakxoelpatatita, and ending with Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 ran back to back by Gamingland and SuperViper respectively.
A full day of spooky games on Saturday, opening with a race between two of Darkest Dungeon's best, Tricrow and SkipMcLazy.
A marathon debut to Castlevania: Chorus of Mystery by levelengine. He holds the record for the game, and he will open up Sunday.
And the big event for Sunday is the Rayman Raving Rabbits 100% Race between Bandow2000 and GhostSenpai.

We actually had this brought up about a month ago. Something that was suggested was a category called "All Sports: No Mercy Rule" Combining the easy baseball of All Sports+ with the rest of regular All Sports. It's personally what I run for marathons, because relying on mercy rule in a marathon situation isn't a good idea.

I'm going to have to call you out on this one TehWhack. Wii Party's All Party Games category has sub categories for Winning every game, and Finishing every game. It's how All Party Games has been setup for over a year. Both sub categories are massive undertakings to watch runs of, even in finish because sometimes it is way faster to setup up the CPU to win and relying on them to do their part (it almost turns the run to be like a co-op game.) So Gamingland not winning certain games isn't as foreign of a concept as you probably think.
So I agree with Gland on this, I think an All Party Games with sub categories for "Finish" and "Win" would be a great addition to the Wii Party U boards.
Good morning everyone, we have a very small rules change set for September.
Cycling will be IGT only
Due to loading time differences between PAL and NTSC, we are going to have Cycling be IGT only. Pretty straight forward, it does change the leader board quite a bit, but RTA really shouldn't of ever been a way to calculate time one of the two games that actually has a timer. The RTA times will be wiped off come later this evening when I finish teaching.
There are in the works to allow limited emulated runs and usb loader of certain categories
This is something we are still working the kinks of on what times you could get. We do know that emulated and usb load times are so much faster than any console version. We are just trying to open up the boards to more players. More details of this will be out in October's rules set.
