Sorry for the late response! This is very welcome:D
I am quite surprised nobody speedran this before!
Yes, it is clunky and a bit shit:D But also quite good. The game has a high skill-ceiling, especially in the light-gun and car-levels. Sub 1:25 should be possible with better strats and a really good run.
I provided practice-savefiles for anyone who wants to try.
For me it's all about my love for the ps1 and I would have liked to compete with others who emulate ps1.
I found it weird that it was just 'stealth-deleted' and someone had to make a forum-thread about it to find out what happened. Definitely not the right way to go about things. If movement-speed is not affected, then there is no reason to not have a leaderboard for unrestricted ps1-emulation.
Sorry for wasting your time. I wasn't able to make sense, but that's life sometimes.
what increases load-times? the emulator? that can be fixed with higher read and seek speeds
question about playstation-emulation: do any of the settings increase run-speed, besides emulation-speed?
If not, then couldn't there be a leaderboard where all settings are limitless except emulation-speed?
Everything can be manipulated with enough motivation? Or are you saying that manipulations in duckstation are undetectable? Not allowing PS1 emulation at all in the leaderboards is a huge blow
Hey guys, as promised I tended to the game a little bit and will mod from now on. If anyone wants to help, you are welcome to do so!
I am happy for now with my 54:11 time, the game got quite frustrating, especially getting hung up in the environment, boss-rng, plus game freezes that killed runs.
I am not sure what the actual current world-record is, but we can go from here I think, the time is very beatable:) I would add Caveman's GDQ-Run, but it doesn't look like he would want that.
As stated in my run, I think the emulator-rules for Duckstation should be 3xRead-Speedup and 10xSeek-Speedup. Really weird, but the only settings that brought me close to the load-times of Caveman's GDQ-Run. I think it's still marginally slower this way, but it shouldn't matter much. Some games have default-speedup values and match the original console perfectly, not TRAG somehow.
Hope some people pick up the game in the next years:) Worth it for the voice-acting alone
I uploaded practice savefiles and route-notes;)
I am interested in running and modding for this game. Currently doing Alien:Resurrection, but TRAG is next:) Gotta represent PS1!
Pretty cool! I tried it out and it's pretty hilarious!
oh damn! I am sorry for not responding for so long. I am not quite sure about the regulations on genesis emulators, will have to research
Hi,
so I realized that this game does not exist here right now. I don't know how to 'submit' a new game on here, so a forum-post should help, I hope.
The only 'Jungle Book' that exists here is the SNES-Version. The newly released PC-Version however features the Genesis-Version which is very different from the SNES-Version.
Here is the game: https://www.gog.com/game/disney_the_jungle_book
Here is my time in RTA: WIll improve by several minutes when I find time ro tun.
For anyone interested in running: I played with a PS3-Controller, the controls are very responsive and easy to pick up.

Amazing platformer from 1996. PC-Version is easy to get into since it is on gog. Playing with a PS3-Controller. Only recently got into it and it is a lot of fun. Both Any% and 100% have nicely developed routes.
