Quick update, Me and Jeggerd spoke about this and we're happy to relax most of the options as they are mostly visual aids more than anything. The only thing we want to make sure remains on is Turn Counter and all Sound settings, just to prevent potential issues with Splicing (which is extremely unlikely but prevention is sometimes better than a cure).
Hey there!
Personally I use Mednafen to run Kartia. I have never had any issues with it and it runs great.
As for the question about game settings, I think that's a fair question. These were set by Jeggard upon category creation. Initially I believe the purpose was to ensure no settings were changed prior to the run starting, but the wording of it isn't clear and something I can probably look into.
Good luck on your runs if you plan on it!
Welcome to the leaderboards!
Have readjusted the time slightly based on first/last inputs (time starts when selecting the story path, time ends on "Stage Clear")
No worries that's totally fine!
I do have a YouTube but it's just not linked to my account for some reason, can just click a link off one of my runs and find my channel.
I think there's a few rules to discuss here for IL's just in terms of whether the level should be from a clean playthrough/NG+, whether item/phantom set up should count as time or whether that can be brought into the level in advance etc. I will discuss it with Jeggerd in Discord and we will look to sort something out!
Thanks for responding! I'd recommend joining the Discord, link can be found on this page, where we can discuss it and set it all up :)
I've also now fixed my notifications so I'll actually get forum alerts :D
I know this was asked years ago, but it's great fun to run. It's got down to about 3 hours per story which is a manageable chunk of time to run the game, there's not many pinch points yet where the run becomes frustrating (only a couple of missions really) and there's some good strats for certain levels to cut a ton of time, 2 for each story pretty much. RNG is a pain, hit% chances can feel X-COM levels of brutal sometimes, but this is only really a problem on certain levels where you need to kill X enemies for a turn based strat to work, otherwise you just work around it.
Hey Shredmachine, sorry for the super long delay, quiet leaderboard this one so didn't notice this!
I'm curious what you'd have for rules for IL's. Happy to discuss and I'm cool to set that up if needs be
