True, I guess mainly just the major ones that most people know?
@underministic, do replay codes work based on your position at a given time?
I guess we have to decipher @GriffPatch's code, what an arduous task... but hey, we might have found something!
Is it possible to make a TAS Replay Code Catcher to verify runs? If we can decipher griffpatch's eerie (and complicated) code then it might be possible. Though, TASers could change it a bit so that they don't get caught.
@underministic Yeah, do you believe that it will ever happen?
@CAKEC0DER I am planning to implement that one strat in a full game run but seeing these comments is making me incredibly hesistant. I will like risks should be taken in the beginning as that is when you taken the least risks and restarting wont be a majour downfall. but woards the end it becomes much worse as a restart would be devasting towards the end."
That is very true, despite your skill, no matter what, a Q+R always haunts you. The only reason sub-3"50"00 might happen is because of the mentality of the 'runner. If they take risks, albeit some time taken for their run, the unthinkable would happen. The problem is that nobody wants to risk their sanity for such a run. XD
Swskrei, you deserve it! And @sushisrx, I'm sorry to see you leave. You were a W while you were here.
@Sir_Farcelot, while I agree that the hole jump in Level 4 is "somewhat" consistent if you practice, it takes a lot of time and dedication and at the end relies on fractional key movements. On my Red% Level 4 run I practiced quite a bit on the hole jump so that it had "relative consistency" where I could get in around 60% or so times but it wasn't 100% consistency and I doubt anyone else could do it either and in a FG% run, despite how good you are, you have to take the least amount of risks or it's all to waste.
@Sir_Farcelot, thanks! Anyways, @DapperScratcher, I have a question for you, do you use an autoclicker? Autoclickers are programmed set mouse movements that can be helpful in clicking different things faster. Autoclickers also tend to take up file space. This extra file space can "lag" when you are playing, making your run a bit slower.
I doubt that you use autoclickers as I saw trace amounts of mouse movements in your run which suggests that you don't have an autoclicker but autoclickers can be programmed to move certain amounts.
Another thing I wonder about (if you don't use autoclickers) is if you use one hand to play and one hand to click on "Continue." I know that some players do that, such as Michael Chan but wonder if you do that too which would remove the theory that you use autoclickers for your FG% runs to be faster.
@Luis_sm, is it possible to actually make a NEW Appel speedrun page to fix @Swskrei's moderator suggestion? I think that he is perfectly capable of being a moderator as I've seen in his own speedrunninng page and believe that he's poses all the virtues needed for the job. Also, if @kanuburgetz, @Chiken_11, and @sushisrx aren't always online, you can add them in as moderators along with the newer ones. The runs might be a problem but you could ask all the users to add their older runs to the newer version. Another idea to this problem is to contact the main mods and ask if there can be more, to fix the speedrunning dilemma.
Anyways, thanks for reading
This is crazy! I know full games are hard because of how perfect they are but if you do it right you become a legend. This is a true example of that. Lots of effort was put into it. :)
As @Sir_Farcelot said, Level 2 could be corrected with the highly improbable spike edge along with Level 4, where you could fall into that hole (also not consistent) faster and save 200 milliseconds. Another question I have is during the Level 7 speedrun where you waited on that platform during the beginning. Is it a mistake or are there other factors because you kept going at pace after that and had a good time? Another question I have is about the spike death in Level 8. Isn't it better to just corner-death it near towards the left side? Lastly, for some reason you waited in Level 9 at that conveyor after jumping over the crusher. Didn't that waste time?
In conclusion, this run was legendary and Michael's run might get beaten soon (if he didn't cheat, not saying he did...)
True, it isn't much skill but then again, you did the exact same thing
True, I guess that makes sense but how do you find the honesty of somebody?
Yeah, but if you have cheated, then most chances you are perfectly fine with doing it again. I said that because I wanted to prove my honesty
