Banjo-Kazooie/Banjo-Tooie Marathon needs to be marked as a Multi-game: https://www.speedrun.com/httpswww.speedrun.combkbt ... and it also needs its abbreviation changed to https://www.speedrun.com/bkbt lmao
Alright, if there's discussion about it going on, that's good. I was just curious since the only mention of it on this forum was a locked topic about a poll, and everyone I see on twitter or what not thinks Kryssstal's guilty. But, none of them, or me, are LTTP runners, so whatever. I hope wqqqqwrt is involved in the decision making, he's obviously a bit biased against the run but he's in 2nd so I'd think he knows what he's talking about. Another substantial score just got removed for a similar reason; Billy Mitchell's highest Donkey Kong scores were proved to be done on emulator, which made them suspect of being recorded input: http://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/176004-Dispute-Jeremy-Young-Arcade-Donkey-Kong?p=946633&viewfull=1#post946633 Of course, no one wants innocent people to get wrongfully deleted, as much as you don't want guilty people to go free, and this can never be a 100% proven case... So I really don't know what the right outcome is, I just know there needs to be an outcome. Good luck with that.
I was wondering why Kryssstal's 1:24:31 run, which is highly suspected to be cheated, is still on this board. Maybe there's discussion about it behind closed doors, but it has been a few months.
With the recent removals of Exo's spliced Meat Boy run, Lee's prerecorded Yoshi's Island run, and Todd Rogers' everything, now seems like it'd be an opportune time to finally take action.
I recognize there is unfortunately no way to prove conclusively if Kryssstal's emulator run is cheated, but considering the evidence of superhuman play garnered from watching/analyzing it, and it being the only emulator time within the top 18, it's really better safe than sorry.
Oh boy, someone interested in this :v Hopefully you beat my time so I can try to take it back. I'll try to answer some things though I don't remember it that well... The order of locations is probably gonna be a mostly personal thing, there's pros and cons to each order. If you beat me, I'll probably just go with whatever you're going with and see how I like it. I don't think I'd ever use Jenny Tiger, I can see its ability being really bad when there's zero cards you want to remove on either board. I'd probably use Young Lichious Turnip if I got one, but not buy extras, that's for sure. Heart seems okay, I guess, but I'd rather use Itan Carver, Jenny Deer, Flip Hero, Iji... Basically, I only pay attention to rare Revive cards, I think. Well, and Health Potions, if I have them. All that combined should be good amount of heals. (If I use Heart in my WR then I guess I'm a liar but I don't remember loving it) Esi has good arrows, yeah. Most vanilla uncommon/rare attack/neutral cards are probably worth it because of their arrows/symbols. And yeah, I found that way of changing battle speed to 2x before doing the tutorial, it's pretty nice. Also, I reset over the first booster pack's contents, since that set has some crucially good cards: Itan, Ultra Fish, Health Potion. You need at least one of them. Eliminator can be very nice, yeah. Not sure about Netherbird. I remember doing a lot of combos using Eliminator's down-left and down-right arrows along with Milda/Drone. (Star Splitter is good too, if you get one. Great for Really and Adwoa) Forfeiting the Fishbun is definitely worth it. If you have a specific shop strat you want to do, yeah, the hint coins might be your ticket.
I use a CRT and don't have any input lag issues, on any GBP games. And I also use a normal ol' Gamecube controller. I tend to use the control stick for overworld movement and the d-pad for menuing. I thought it'd be terrible, but, it actually works quite well. At first I hated it and was making a lot of bad inputs but I quickly got used to the d-pad. If you have a Gamecube/GBA link cable, you can use a GBA as the controller. I think that's what werster uses for all of this runs. I love the gamecube controller though.
Oh also, I use the alternate controller setup where L/R are the select button and X/Y are L/R. Makes sorting and soft resetting way easier.
