@tyler9698

Also doesn't work, because he has a European console. He would need another console anyways for that.

@Kid_Gamer Nope, doesn't work with PAL. PAL consoles have an actual chip on the main board that locks out other regions.

Yes, the japanese console does not output sound or picture in a different way. It definitely will work as long as you have your cables from the european console. All console variants are the same. Only the european one has a lockout chip inside, but that's only to prevent foreign games to be played.

I'm from Switzerland and I also have European Power sockets and TV. I tested it myself since I have both european and japanese consoles. The only difference in the cables is actually the shape of the power cable that plugs into your power socket. The chunky plug that connects to the console is a transformer that levels down the electricity to your consoles need, which is equal for all console variants. The TV-cable is also completely equal to all variants as they all can output either Scart, S-Video or even RF. So in the end you really only require the console itself cables excluded if you already have another system.

Technically you could even get an American system and remove some plastic corners inside the cartridge slot, because the european one is the only one that actually has a chip in the main board that locks out other regions. American and Japanese consoles only have slightly different cartridge shapes that prevents them from being put in the respective other console. But honestly, I don't do that because I couldn't get over physically breaking off a piece of my console.

Haven't heard of an N64 region adapter yet. I'd suggest buying a japanese System and using the Power and TV-cables from your european system, since these cables will fit on all versions.

I don't know a whole lot about Todd Rogers and his history. But I saw a few videos of him where he only talks and just hearing how he communicates in a very evasive way or making up excuses on the spot makes him a really dishonest person.

And to be honest I get a similar vibe from Billy Mitchell.
